I LOVE this video. I live in America, and it’s upsetting that you can’t step into a grocery store without spending $100, even as a single person. That’s not including toiletries or other incidentals. I appreciate that, even on a small salary, a single person can live well enough. Everything is also over-packaged, so every week I have food going bad because I couldn’t possibly finish it all on my own. I give away my extra, but would be nice to just be able to purchase what I need.

You do know that local avocados can be as cheap as 80 baht per KG...why would you buy a single avocado in gourmet market that costs more than a KG? That's why she bought it in a local market and not in the supermarket, so why are you comparing a gourmet supermarket to a local market in the first place?

I like my Nespresso machine but you should try grinding and brewing your own coffee sometimes.. It can be quite relaxing and Tokyo has such a great of selection of shops selling fresh beans....the whiff of coffee aroma as you grind the beans is intoxicating
