What I Eat in a Day | Michelle Heaton

Ойын-сауық

Here’s what I eat on an average clean eating day, I use the 80/20 rule, so eat really healthily during the week and whatever I fancy on the weekends.Please SUBSCRIBE for more health and fitness videos - bit.ly/MichelleHeaton
To give me a boost of energy, I start the day off with a black coffee with sweetener.
For breakfast I have a one egg, 5 egg whites Omelette, with red onions, spinach and paprika, cooked with 1-calorie spray. If I had a work out in the morning, I’d allow myself to have some carbs, like a protein pancake with oats in.
For a snack I have some 0% fat Greek yoghurt with blueberries and a sprinkle of options hot chocolate.
Lunch is a big salad with half an avocado and around 130g of chicken, with one and a half teaspoons of 70% less fat Heinz salad dressing.
My mid afternoon snack would either be a protein bar or a protein shake. Dinner is roasted broccoli with paprika, some peas and 150g salmon, salad and some 50% less sugar ketchup.
If I get hungry in the evening I’ll have a cup of options hot chocolate!

    Im very tall in height and have a very broad frame for my body! Therefore my portion sizes for food are much, much bigger than your own portion sizes! I would eat so much more than what you would eat in a day! This is all normal i guess for my build and height right? I do think i eat relatively healthy, but there are many times during a given week, where i would eat a lot of junk food and takeaway food, when i just dont feel like cooking or am craving something sugary or savoury! When it comes to exercise i have never really had any motivation for doing it at all! I used to take part in some sports, but just gave them all up! I do however walk almost everywhere i go! Any advice Michelle?

    Hey Michelle, Just discovered you do this and think its fab! really enjoying following u and getting ideas! U have a beautiful family and its great to see how u manage everything, getting the balance right! Just had a thought/query abt low fat or no fat yoghurt? Did u find there can be quite abit more sugar in these, sometimes, I end up getting the normal/std yoghurts, eg greek yoghurt. Know u said u avoid sugar, it amazes me how it appears on so many different foods. I am type 1 diabetic, so mayb that's y I see it more in foods. Love the fact u said its all abt education when it comes to eating, can just be abit of mind field. Keep up the fantastic work and looking to forward to seeing what you do next! :) xx

    +Nicki Kinickie depends on when you workout. If it's in the evening, it's fine to have carbs in your refuel meal. You'll never grow muscle if you're not having a carb/protein meal after a strength workout. You don't need fat in your post workout meal as it'll slow down the carb absorption. Your body needs carbs and needs them quickly after a workout as your blood sugar will be low.

    Carbs do not make u fat , I don't understand why people think that , fat makes you fat like animal products , I eat unlimited carbs on a vegan lifestyle, I have huge bowls of potatoes, pasta , rice ect and stay very slim and healthy , I eat until I am content and don't need to worry about portion sizes and calories

    But you are eating a high carb diet with little fat and protein, right? Carbs do make you fat if you eat them with fats and protein as that slows down their digestion and they end up being stored as sugar. Excess sugar that isn't being burned equals weight gain. Your vegan diet means that carbs are your main fuel and your body burns them quickly as there is little of the other food groups to slow down the metabolism of them so you can eat them in a larger quantity.

  • @Redruby27

    @Redruby27

    8 жыл бұрын

    Well just the idea that when you eat some, they just make you hungry again, and that too many or too much added sugar causes weight gain etc, and I guess overall if you are consuming too many carbs than required, just like calories, it has to go somewhere.

  • @Redruby27

    @Redruby27

    8 жыл бұрын

    +d26s10 See I thought that's what you should do, and we have always been told to do that, to make sure we eat protein with our carbs to slow down digestion, hence to feel fuller longer etc so is that actually wrong? In a way it would seem so, as plans like Slimming World work on not having the two together, and people lose weight.

  • @d26s10

    @d26s10

    8 жыл бұрын

    +Redruby27 it really depends on your goal. To grow muscle, you need carbs and protein. The average person eating meat/dairy (all food groups) should eat carbs and protein together, yes indeed to slow down the carb spike and feel fuller for longer. It's very important to have the two after working out but don't go overboard. Any excess calories over your body's energy demands will not be used up and stored as fat. When eating a vegan diet, they rely heavily on carbs as a form of energy and have very low amounts of protein and fat. You'll often find them referring to themselves as hclf. You need to be very careful about what carbs you're eating if on this diet. Over consumption of starches will turn to fat. There are plenty of videos on KZread, search for 'veganism made me fat'. It's better to focus on fruits and veggies if you're going to go high carb X

    All ok HOWEVER... Where is the wholegrain? Complex carbs. E.g oats for breakfast. Lots of refind sugar in there too .. OPTIONS Hot choc galore, condiments as opposed to making natural sauces /dressings like olive oil etc! Defo not great promoting fasted cardio either :/ only ok once or twice a week. The lack of carbs aside from the quest bar is bad!

  • @d26s10

    Totally agree. Keeping calories high is a must, this seems like about 1200 cals, maybe less. Way too low, even for a rest day. The omelette after a workout is not enough. A slice or two of Wholemeal toast with it would be much more appropriate. There's no point in working out if you're not going to refuel properly as your muscle mass won't grow, you're just burning yourself out and causing stress on the body.

    +Redruby27 it's only going to cause burnout and throw hormones out of whack. So many people think you only need protein after a workout to gain muscle but this period of time is crucial to get the good carbs in such as sweet potato, quinoa or brown rice. You absolutely need CARBS and protein to heal your muscles so they grow, and with more muscle mass comes a faster metabolism.. Which again, needs more calories to keep it burning food quickly. The worst thing you can do is over exercise and under fuel your body. It's so damaging.
