I've lost 70lbs eating low carb. I must eat this way because if I eat sugar, my arthritis gets worse and my body gets wracked with pain. Cutting out sugar has helped my life. There is no more pain. I am very happy to have found your channel.

Hi Mayra, I just found your channel and so glad I did. I’m 63, post menopausal, and all of a sudden, I can’t maintain my weight. (I also recently retired and right off the bat gained 5 lbs.) I’m a small person, 5’1” and my happy weight is btw 120-125 lbs. Right now I’m at 132 and so afraid I will keep gaining due to lack of physical activity and slower metabolism. You said it all when you said it’s so hard to lose weight because we can’t stick to it. That’s my problem, exactly. Mostly because I get tired of eating the same foods and then I finally give in to the carb cravings and eating sweets. Now that I know about you I will continue to watch for your recipes. The protein shake looked good and curry chicken is one of my favorite dishes. I also learned from you not to eat too much fruit because of the sugars. I do have one question: You fried the salmon and chicken; does that not add calories? I always thought to lose weight one should refrain from eating fried foods. Anyhoots, I can’t wait to watch your other videos and try other delicious recipes so I can eat more healthy! Thank you!

I want to eat this way for the rest of my life so for once I can maintain. You are an inspiration having maintained for so many years. Carbs were my downfall in the past, but they are out of my head now and I want to keep it that way. I plan to try many more of your recipes. Thanks so much.

Here in Brazil, one of the best, most traditional smoothies is an avocado (actually, abacate, the bigger, tastier version of the fruit) smoothie. Basically, its abacate, sugar, milk, ice and a aquirt of lemon juice. It's delicious! As is avocado ice-cream. Just adapt it to keto: almond or coconut milk, erythritol and ice and you are good! It's the best smoothie you'll ever have!

Looks delicious, Myra! I totally agree about the big salad, I’m so there. Just FYI, as many avocados as we use on low carb, you may want to buy an OXO 3 in 1 avocado tool. I just got mine today and love it. It has a slicer to open the avocado, a built in pitter and a cool one stroke slicer, all in one. Just rinse it off and it is ready to go again. Check it out. ☺️

Thanks so much for sharing, Myra, and congrats on your weight loss and maintenance! You look amazing and that is very inspiring! I'm looking to lose about 135 pounds, altogether. I've lost about 65 and have another 75 or 80 to go. I love to make my coconut (milk) curry chicken in a crock pot. I can throw the ingredients in there, in the morning, and then come home to a lovely meal, along with the cauliflower rice. I definitely recommend it, for those who are short on time. I also make extra portions and freeze them, for future meals.

I just discovered you today. I love how you made this video so laid back and I can also relate to the same things you talked about like wanting to eat a big meal instead of a tiny one to feel satiated. So the food really does have to be good and a decent quantity in order to sustain. When I had Cancer and lost appetite I lost 50 pounds. But since I have been healing, I already gained back 20 pounds. I still have 2 more years of immunotherapy to go so I'm still looking for what works for me. Thank you for sharing your amazing recipes and hacks. I will definitely start watching your video collections. Peace out from Minnesota.

So very glad you are on the path to recovery from Cancer !! My sister was diagnosed with follicular lymphoma and will be needing treatment. Wondered what immunotherapy is working for you and what treatment center you found ( Mayo,… Cancer Treatment Centers of Amer, etc , or what you’d recommend. ). Thanks much and continued health and recovery. Cheers.

The first few times when the recipe is new it's great then after a couple of weeks, it starts to feel like a LOT of work even though nothing has changed. Your own energy level is what has changed. So for me, if I can do a hack, I'm going for it. My boys love pork chops, steak and greens every day. It takes maybe 20 minutes but even that is a lot of commitment some days. Then I just offer take-out or Cub Friend chicken. :) This Cancer Mom is just too tired to cook!

You can make sauces in advance and keep in the fridge which don't contain rapeseed oil and other bad stuff. That's very easy to do or even freeze it an pop it out when ready to cook something on the fly

@@femvetusa5263 I stop eating at 7pm at the latest. Eat again at 1pm. That is a 18/6 window. Change it up every now and then to “trick” my system. I have done this since I started in 2019… before the pandemic. One factor affecting me right now is a lot of stress. Too much cortisol raises my insulin. When one issue passes, another one pops up. Some people don’t realize how hormones can mess with their weight loss. The key is to continue on with your keto diet. You will be better off for it in the long run

Low carb/keto is always my go-to for weight loss and feeling healthier but I am not a person who has a lot of energy or motivation. Sometimes I just wish I could have access to things that were more ready-to-eat. Always needing to cook is a drag. I know it's the best way to control what goes into your body but I'm just being truthful. I miss convenience foods. Thanks for this wonderful video. Maybe all I need is to keep it simple, like these recipes are. They all look amazing and satisfying. Thanks so much.
