You are right on about the build quality. I bought an Adventurer 901SB, (Adventurer makes the Scout camper) and what a nightmare!! The window shade mounts came off, the bathroom door trim was cut too long and the pressure caused it to pop off, the Max Fan trim was cracked, bathroom door knob hole was too large and the knob would rotate when turned, the paneling was not cut square in several locations...I could continue. Wish I had bought a Cirrus Camper.

Thanks for watching. Yeah that's a serious list. My feeling is unless you buy something crazy expensive like an earthroamer or a oev your going to get shitty finish work in an rv. Don't think they pay enough for high end finish workers and high end carpenters probably have no desire to make the same thing over and over. That's why I went with the scout figured less finish stuff meant less stuff to have a poor finish on.

All valid points. I noticed when looking at these that there is no shade on the rear door just frosting on the window which is odd. What happens if you want to see what is going on outside the back of your when camping 🤷‍♂️

Yes the stock window is frosted i have replaced it with a clear window with shade.

Leaks at these prices I feel are not acceptable. Not right scout. - and the interior screws not being long enough,u showed us- I was with u ,finding that unbelievable.

bro talk more about them leaks, i want one but i live in alaska with no dealer so if its leaking thats not good. btw this review is awesome and honest keep it up man!

Thanks for watching, the leaks I had were pretty minor and handled easily by my local dealer. Im sure I could have solved them with a tube of caulk if a dealer wasn't close. I'd suggest joining the fb owners group if you want to learn more, and follow along here aswell.

We picked up our Scout Olympic in late 2021. No leaks and overall have been really happy with it. Definitely some QC issues that could be better, but they are much more manageable because of the simplicity of the camper. I would still highly recommend it.

Same here was really wanting to order one and been talking to a rep online asking questions. Now im on the fence. Leaks are absolutely not acceptable.

Any leak and it should have gone back for a full refund. Sooooo many better units out there.

Thanks for watching, They handled the leaks at the dealer and have been really good on customer service. If I wanted something else or felt there was a better option for my goals and budget I would have bought it.

@Sec One really hard to say. Some folks say total composites, but those don't come with any interior so I think it's hard to comp because if you get a total composites you still need to pay for interior build out and systems. Also unsure you can finance those. Others say four wheel campers. But those are pop tops which I think are a totally different thing and they are aluminum construction. Them there are far more expensive and heavier builds like artic fox etc which seem more rv like or thinks like icarus which are crazy expensive. I think thats where the scout is kind of Ina breed of its own. I guess closest thing might be other ALP products but those are heavier and have more nick nacks which make me think they are more fragile/ have more things to break

You can finance a total composites camper. Some (not all of our partners) offering that service. Usually, the TC campers are around $10,000 less than the Scouts. This would get you a heck of a nice interior if you are willing to put in the effort. Cheers

Wow. There is NO amount of positives that would erase the things you mentioned in this video, for me. None. I looked at Scouts. I like the idea. The problem is, other people have done the idea better. Scout is a hard no for me.

I think their pricing is reasonable for the product vs total composites given you get windows a fully built set up etc. I do think a lot of my issues with the camper were early qc related and I have been happy with mine overall.

What type of stairs are those going to the tailgate?

Your welcome for the video, I would say that an OEV pop up which is a totally different type of camper starts at 25% more than a Scout Kenai which is much larger and comes with some things standard like battery's and solar that the OEV doesn't come with. So kind of an apples to oranges comparison.

You'll loose a lot of space putting in drawers it's a modular camper that's the whole idea too bad at leaks though

Thanks for watching, I think I will have a much better layout with far superior storage when I am done. They were made to be diy'd which is exactly what I'm doing. Definitely a bummer on the leaks.
