This helps a lot for the 3ds max community. Although most famous movies use 3ds max, Maya, and Houdini, it's really hard to know the process from real professional. I just see this channel for the first time and hit LIKE & SUBSCRIBE button!!!

Excellent breakdown Steffen. I was very curious, I saw on your ArtStation, that you previously used Maya for some of your projects. Which workflow do you prefer, Maya or 3Ds Max with Forest, Railclone Etc? And what tools are used if you for example had to do the same thing using a Maya based Workflow outside of 3Ds max. I Already know all the tools here having worked in Archviz for nearly 10 years, but I am curious what would be needed if I try and get into a Maya based production.

So in Vray you can randomise the texture in multiple ways. The most simplest is using scholastic tiling in a vray UVW randomizer node that appears at render time.

Was everything proxied? Do you guys have a building full of Xeon workstations with entire racks of 3090TIs with entire shelves of exobytes of RAM? I understand studios have more computing power but something like this....in 3DS Max..? I'd love to learn how to come even close!

Read about copyright exceptions, such as fair use. You upload 10 hour of ambience loops, you can't expect to copyright it for monetization purposes. If you really want to be petty about it, go ahead and utilize KZread's copyright system, but I bet that won't get you anywhere anyway.
