I read or saw a story about the Crown Heights riots. In the 60's and you would know this better than I maybe, but Jews could identify with the ugly racial prejudices that blacks had to deal with. Sometimes people forget the incident in Mississippi, where Chaney(a black civil rights worker), Goodman, and Schwerner (2 Jews) who went with him had drove to Mississippi from NY to protest or aide in voting for black Americans. Most remember the movie Mississippi Burning and the vicious beating and subsequent murder of all three men by the KKK (cowards) Sheriff's. I remember a story from a Jew that was staying in his house the nights of the riots until he noticed a silhouette of a black man sitting staunchly on the middle of his steps. He then realized in was his next door neighbor standing guard so nothing would happen to that house. I'm Colombian, but outside of birth, I grew up in America my whole life. I wish the Jews and the black folks could rekindle that bond they once had.

@@janefromtennessee All Christians are Messianic. "Messias being interpreted is Christ". Christ fulfilled the ordinances of the OT, so if a Christian observes them outside of their fulfillment, they are not Christians. There is no such thing as a messianic Jew as it relates to Christ. "There is no more difference between the Jew and the gentile". Judaism was never a race of people, it has always been a religion. You can't be a Jew and a Christian. Jews believe in a messiah, but it is not Christ. 2 John: 22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. 23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. John 1:41 We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ. Hebrews 9:10 10 Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation. Colossians 2:14 14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; Colossians 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Romans 10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

As far as judges, their duty is to objectivity view the law and the accused. I personally know of crime and criminality because I had lived among it, up close but that does not qualify me to be a Court Judge. I believe objectivity and impartiality should be the most important aspect, in any endeavor but most are uncomfortable with unknowns....it does require listening foremost. I love both of the religions. Both religions are beautifu. I love that we can all live together peacefully. I will never ever take that for granted.

@@fanbatcherthis is true. Doctrines that conflict can’t all be true. We can befriend people of many faiths but we are all responsible for seeking the Truth. ”Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.“ ‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Jesus did not say I am “one truth.” He didn’t say “some people come to the Father through me but others come a different way.” Jesus said , “I am THE way, THE truth, and THE life. No one comes to the Father EXCEPT through Me.“ ‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Either Jesus is right or He is wrong. I believe He is right for many reasons. Our culture unfortunately is brainwashed into a new age “theology” of “god is whatever you want or believe him to be.” That is false and we must reckon with what Jesus said. I can show love to anybody-Muslim, atheist, Jewish. But I can not sit here and say all the religions lead to God. God bless.

The book she's referring to at around the 13:40 mark is "Not Without My Daughter" by Betty Mahmoody. They made a movie in the 80s based on that starring Sally Field and Alfred Molina. I was an older teenager when that came out and it affected my impression negatively as well, creating an unnecessary fear of a certain people as a whole rather than realizing it was just one woman's story. Thankfully, that changed once I moved to a part of the country where I was actually exposed to many different cultures and made friends with a variety of people. Traveling, education, and having conversations like you do in your videos makes a big difference in changing people's perceptions of others.

She said that what most people missed from her story, was that the people who helped her escape from her situation, were all Muslim as well. People who risked themselves, under a repressive theocratic regime to help her out of an abusive situation,. She still had a respect for Islam and it's people. There is bad and good everywhere. What is good for some individuals is not good for others. It's when people are supposed to conform to someone else's ides of what they should be doing, that it becomes problematic. People need to find their own way, make their own choices.

It seems that way to outsiders because that's what they are trying to portray. Inside the community it's often not that pretty. For example, within the Amish community, sexual abuse of women is rampant. Same for orthodox jewish communities, there's a lot of girls that are forced into marriage at a young age, and it they want to leave and do something different, they get shunned by their entire family and community. Netflix has a series on this called "Unorthodox"
