They’ll leave all the heirlooms in. They are continuously trying to make the leveling faster so this makes sense.

It’s a good idea because you wanna grind them and people who have can own in bgs which is the true cata experience. The low amount of people playing tho makes me think they should remove them. But idk 🤷

@scotte did i get this right 4000 JPoints are ~ 346 emblem of frost/triumph . so all else above shoudl be emblems of conquest for max goldprofit?

yea mate the rest should convert to gold, they did it a bit different back in original cata they allowed the cap to just be a "soft cap" so you could actually go as high on JP as you want in pre patch but you wouldn't gain any more over 4k but then when cata launched the hard cap of 4k was implemented and the rest was either lost or converted to gold, i cant remember which way the excess went but this time around it looks like a flat gold amount over 4k, sorry for the long explanation lol

Did they just update that this last Tuesday on the BETA converting emblems to justice points? Because I logged on, on Monday (2 days ago now) and still noticed my frost badges on my character I copied over from live like a month ago. I made sure to check on that, that day.

How are you doing your cinematics and smooth camera pans? Looks nice

I said this to my guildies because I remember it being expensive and because I wanted to level a alt during Cata.

@Scottejaye question. If you get to the guild reputation of the right level to get the heirloom, can you then add it to your collection so that your other characters can also use it? Or can you only use it on the character that has that guild reputation?

You need guild rep to buy them. Once bought you can mail them to a fresh lvl 1 without problems

but how much justice do you earn compared to emblems? what is the time spent to earn an heirloom between justice points and triumph badges?

Do the heirlooms from Classic Wrath that are at the moment (before pre-patch) at lvl 80, will they level to 85 or stay the same (80) when Cata classic is out?

im at 0:53 and i think we will see for all armor types Head and Legs also getting 1h Sword and Shield for Tanks like Warriors and Paladins also new Addition bc of the Tanks Shoulder and Chest for Tanks. Not Rly a Heirloom but the Tabard mention to send them around if you leveling an alt to get the Guild rep up.

where would i find my heirlooms from WoTLK classic? They're not in my collection panel... I 100% had Heirlooms that I purchased from the vendors in Dalaran but I can't find them on any of my characters since the release of Cata pre-patch.

First patch of MoP from a guild achievement

From what I remember it was like 0966 said, legs, helm, and cloak

I don't remember what expansion it was but at some point you use archeology to get heirs and upgrade them

11.58 emblems is the transfer rate, but the rate you earn justice points at 85 inst equivalent to rate you earn justice emblems at 80 in wotlk. Comparing the emblem cost in wotlk to point cost in cata only works if you don't plan on leveling to 85. For example in wotlk 1 boss drops 1 emblem, but in cata you get 50 justice per boss.

Thats not really relevant for the pre patch though where you are getting 16 per boss or 24 for a raid boss. Its absolutely more beneficial and quicker to use emblems now that JP later.

Not in Cataclysm. They stop giving XP at 80 and aren’t upgradable until MoP.

Does this mean we can get 80-85 looms in prepatch? Assuming we dont get guild levels, only thing blocking you would be the rep right? Would be nice to get that extra 15-20% whatever the 2 new slots will give :D

Is this a new change? Cataclysm heirlooms stopped at 80. It wasn’t until MoP that they could be upgraded to 85 with an additional consumable.

currently in pre-patch all heirlooms are capped at 80 don't think they will make them to 85 till later in cata or people would use them to super lvl 80--85

So where would one buy these heirlooms for honor? You mention that it is worth buying them before pre-patch but google is not my friend no sources tell me that they are purchasable for honor

Theyre found in the same room as the other tier vendors and bought with Heroism emblems, or buyable at the Argent tourney grounds in the big tent after getting full exalted with the Argent Crusade using Champion Seals.

Oh the honor ones are bought from the Wintergrasp vendor, but they are different from the ones shown with resilience rather than other stats, though they still give bonus xp.

Leave the legs in. There’s going to be a lot of people leveling from 1 and it’s a good incentive for promoting the guild rep system.

You tell people it's better to spend your honour now since it will be cheaper than prepatch. Yeah cool except for the fact that you can't buy Heirlooms with honour now, only in the prepatch after it's megabuffed in price.

I am finding it incredibly frustrating that they aren’t giving us any info on cata but the bare minimum. When will raids launch? What state will the raids be in? What state will dungeons be in? (I remember they were pretty hard to start with as you needed to CC or at least not stand in stuff and dps was used to old wrath hcs where the tank just pulled and ran) Are we getting nerfed content as we are starting on a late patch or have they put in the pre nerfed versions? Is cash flow in? What transmog are we getting? As a GM it’s hard to plan anything right now and as a player the radio silence is stupid

Yeah I don't get this radio silence and lack of interest either. SoD is a short term project, but regular Classic will likely go on for maybe a decade - and if Cataclysm ends up bad due to negligence it'll have a ripple effect on future Classic expansions (like it did originally). Blizzard need to get their act in order and pronto and stop listening to the naysayers screaming about how much they hate something they have no intention of even giving a chance.

Well they have for my entire guild on there lol, not all characters though. You need to check your fresh 80 copies, not characters you've actively levelled.

@@brandonkruse6412 Cataclysm expansion (Patch 4.0. 3), heirlooms were added that scale up to level 85 rare equivalents (helms, cloaks, legs, and rings). In Patch 4.1, a few more were added (helm, cloak, legs, and ring). This was a simple google search and maybe they weren't locked behind a guild achievement at the time but i defo had them during cata.

I genuinely like the Heirloom Ring idea.

Heirlooms is such a stupid system. Big part of the game is finding new items, the excitement when you roll on your first blue in deadmines, seeing bigger numbers after an upgrade etc. They completely take it away with the heirloom system. What I hope they do is replace all heirlooms with 1 tabard or shirt item that gives +20% xp or whatever and maybe +10% all stats or something if they must.

They have put no effort into cata and want us to burn through it in 12 months or less. For that reason, I’m not playing it. I was so excited but seeing them put no effort into it ruins the excitement

So glad you called out Aggrend’s ridiculous diatribe posting about Season of Dogshit while the Cata beta is a literal abortion. They are so out of touch it’s incredible. The legs weren’t added until Mists but they may end up altering the achievement for Cata.

Because that's the way the game is designed. It's not designed around "your" way of playing. If you don't like it don't play it, stop complaining.

The amount of effort being put into Cataclysm is such an embarrasment. It really is the bare minimum. They could have made such a 'hated' or disliked expansion really cool by adding new features like challenge modes or the ring heirloom stuff, but they're just going to rush through the entirety of Cata in less than a year. Let alone how they're going to treat MoP.

Cataclysm has enough content and new stuff to keep everyone entertained for a year. It’s not a long expansion and people originally complained that the patches were too long. Just leveling up 1-60 is practically an entirely new game. If what Cata has to offer isn’t enough for you, just skip it lol.
