@@snaps_3398I’ll explain the case. It’s about that the parents of the girl neglected her and forced her to sit in a couch for 12 years because their daughter has a rare condition called locked-up syndrome which is kinda like catatonia but way worse.

The parents lied. She didn't have locked in syndrome. During the autopsy she was found with couch stuffing in her stomach because she was so hungry she was willing to eat anything.

Yeah if she did have locked in syndrome, she would not have been able to chew or swallow, she would’ve been paralyzed. The real mystery is how the parents got her to stay on that couch for so long.

She didn't have locked-in syndrome, though. She'd still be able to move her arms enough to eat the sofa stuffing. Her mother said that she'd eaten some food, but the only contents found in her stomach were that of sofa stuffing and her own feces. She had been a very active girl when she was a teen, but her parents abruptly took her out of school. For a while she had stayed in contact with her friends through email, with apparently nothing wrong. But so many years later, her own doctor from her childhood had come to check up on her and found her dead body fused to the couch, her legs crossed. Her bones could be seen because of bed sores that ate away at her flesh and muscle. Watch Rotton Mango's full video to understand the full story because I can't explain it all unfortunately

A grand jury will hear the case on May 2 and decide whether the parents should face charges, which could include manslaughter, negligent homicide, or second-degree murder. The second-degree murder charge has a possible penalty of life in prison, according to prosecutors.

She wasn’t actually diagnosed with Locked in Syndrome, she was actually homicide by neglected, Tortured, and filicide by her parents.

Clean the couch? I've seen the picture of the couch, she was literally *melted* into it, you can see where her arm rested and everything. These parents are disgusting. The fact they ignored her and now trying to justify their crimes is atrocious.

it's really not that hard, it's a single phone call to 911 for an ambulance and they'll take it from there. can also call non emergency police number if worried about ambulance bill and they'll make calls

Both parents were given 20 years in jail for refusing medical care for Lacey for at least 12 years (lying to friends, family, and neighbors that Lacey was fine/had moved out/was always too busy to check up with anyone). When Lacey began having severe medical problems, the parents neglected her health into immobility- meaning she relied on them for all care as she lost control over all bodily functions including motor control. She was already dead for one or two days by the time the parents reported her as deceased, but the autopsy was unable to determine a set time because the decomposition was so severe due to the necrosis, fly infestation of her body, and the severely emaciated state of her body. The parents were officially found guilty and sentenced March 20th, 2024. Please tread carefully if you choose to investigate this further on your own. Pictures of her body are very easy to find and they are deeply disturbing. The records from the medical staff’s observations are also not for the faint of heart. She deserved so much better than any of this.

​@@Truly_SithariWith Locked In Syndrome you are alive with brain function, you can breathe and move your eyes around too. Unlike being in a coma where you have the possibility of being brain dead and all that can function is the rest of your body just to "Keep the Lights on" so to speak. Being brain dead they can legally euthanize you and take you off life support without having to sign paper. With Locked in you are still of sound mind just locked in your own body so technically they can't let you go. Also LIS is exceedingly rare to come out of, it's rare in general but its even more astronomically rare for someone to resume moving and full bodily function again, I've only seen a handful of cases I can honestly count on one hand. It's truly a tragic disease 😢

Her parents carried on like "normal". The parents lived in the house, lounged in the same room, and acted as if she wasn't there right next to them rotting alive.The neighbors had no idea. The most disturbing part was that they were both continuing to live their normal lives, eating, watching tv in the same room for years while she was slowly dying and melting into the couch. The smell must have been absolutely putrid and yet they just went on collecting money for her.

She got no food, no water, couldn’t move, etc, she literally died probably in 2-3 weeks and began rotting alive by the end of the first months and the rest is history

I just read about this and all I can say is that it's hard to believe that BOTH parents could be this heartless. There's no human justice that can correlate to an inch of the amount of suffering that happened here.

If anyone is curious. The image doesn't show her corpse. It's just stained and has the imprint of her body. I have heard of this case earlier this year. Do not look at the other photos though. She's basically decaying while being stuck to the couch.

Something that I will never forget, and that haunts me the most about how that couch looked… she didn’t melt after she died… she fused with it while still alive. She was sentient and conscious the entire time. Her level of suffering has been experienced by very few people. She died after years of suffering on a level that I could never understand. She fought for 12 YEARS and finally gave up her fight. Alone. In the same house as her parents. Those monsters caused more pain and suffering to their own child, than serial killers cause to their victims. Locked in syndrome is hell on earth in the safest and cleanest of places. Hell is too good of a place for those people. And deserve 100 fold the suffering of their daughter.

She didnt die in a year she died in 3-5 days from dehydration but still that hurts

​@@Corruption_realYTno they let her relieve herself on the couch or a towel nearby and fed her the bare minimum. She died from over a decades worth of neglect and abuse, so she did live through all of that torture until the very end when her body just gave out. Not only did they find feces in her stomach, but also pieces of the couch as she wasn't laying down but in an upright position. The mother claimed she never complained about not going outside, but how could she if she had locked in syndrome? Then again the article I found from the beginning of the year doesn't mention that. Just severe autism an crippling anxiety.

Same dude, same…

My daughter just turned 4 but suffered a traumatic brain injury at 49 days old. She is unable to speak stand crawl or walk. But she goes to a medical daycare and gets all of her therapies there. We’ve got her seizures mostly under control so she is starting to make some. Sounds everything going on with her she goes everywhere we go and was able to enjoy her Chuck E. Cheese birthday, I could not imagine leaving my child on a couch for one day much less years! These “parents” should spend their life in solitary confinement.

This makes my heart, head and soul hurt. Locked in syndrome makes it so you can't move, your mind is usually normal. Can you imagine laying in these inhuman conditions and you can only move your eyes? Torture. There's no excuse, the parents probably got ssi checks and checks for her care. They knew what they were doing. Extremely horrific and sad. RIP Lacey ❤

@@riverselive_kdmz_8458 if ur talking about the lacy case, then: so Lacy had locked in syndrome where u cant move any part of ur body, exept the eyes. U can still think like a normal person too. So these parents just left her on the couch for 12 years. During that time she was slowly painfully dying, "going to the bathroom" on the couch. So u can imagine all the flies etc that were laying eggs on her. After they got arrested they meant: "she was too lazy to move" which is disgusting the fact that her parents didnt care about her. He also made a longer video about the case u can watch it

That poor woman. Whenever I think my childhood was bad, I just turn on KZread and and immediately find tons of things to be grateful for instead. Edit: Haha. Calm down guys. Finding things to grateful for instead of getting depressed over a bad childhood is not the same as saying my experiences don't matter or aren't still valid.. And it certainly doesn't mean I'm making it a "competition". (???) It just means there's a lot of things to be grateful for that you can't see if all you're focused on is the stuff that hurts.

It’s all relative and doesn’t mean you had it any easier , it sucks to hear about this poor girl being left like this i just can’t imagine it or how the “parents” could watch their baby girl essentially rot on the couch ? My biggest question on these cases is WHERE are the family’s? Aunts uncles friends grandparents godparents? How does this person disappear from their lives without anyone EVER asking or being concerned?

You'd be surprised. Many people have either very few family left or are simply not on good terms with any of them. My parents are first generation immigrants so we have zero other relatives here. I had a very abusive childhood and nobody checked up on me.

This makes me ashamed to say I live in Louisiana. This is one state where u never hear anything 100% positive. This young ladies parents if we can even call them that. Stayed traveling, playing golf , tennis lessons, trips to the spa and of course LSU Football games. They even recently before this was revealed went on a cruise. She was abused plain and simple and they should be locked up, not for tax payers to cloth, feed and provide free medical care to either. Put them on a couch refuse to let them get up with no food or water. These people are monsters.

One time when I overdosed on medication,I got a similar thing to locked in syndrome, but it only happened for a few minutes at a time, but it was THE WORST THING I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED, it was terrifying, hard to breathe, I couldn't do anything but try to scream, so I can only imagine how awful it must've been for this poor girl, who experienced it for weeks until she died, she must have been terrified and upset and angry, this is heartbreaking

not even just weeks, she experienced it for 12 years. her brain must have been far gone in the agony and suffering after sitting like that for so long. may she rest in peace.

@@Imamotherfreakingavocado she actually died somewhat recently, in january 3rd of 2022, so she was alive for a very long time of it. she only ended up actually dying due to starvation because her parents left for a weekend and didn't feed her any food. she even tried to eat the couch cushion before she succumbed.

@@Imamotherfreakingavocado if her parents completely ignored her for 12 years that means she was dead within a week. Remember the body can only last three days without water. That means her corpse was just rotting there for years.

I already know this the girl did melt into the couch and then bugs stared to eat her flesh ( I forgot what type of bugs )

I agree, but one thing some aren’t aware of is that that’s actually the couch after the body had been removed, so it’s not as horrific as the actual crime scene, but it definitely doesn’t make it any less disturbing

The fact that she was going through mental dysfunctions, and her parents were not there to monitor her every move shows what kind of parents they weren’t. Rip bc she didn’t deserve this. Being on the spectrum myself I only know how executive dysfunction feels and that bad enough bc you do feel trapped in your body. Sooo many things you want to do and then your body sends the wrong impulses to your nerves and associates the things you want to do w fear or dysfunction or chaos and you don’t do any of it. They had to cut around her since the leather had attached to her skin from being there for so long. The puddle is an amalgamation of feces, urine, and puke. A rag that’s pink ad white that probably was placed under her or they threw over her and then just left it there.

I'm absolutely disgusted that anyone would treat any sentient being with such neglect, cruelty, suffering and gross disregard for life. And this was their child, their flesh and blood, to treat their child with absolutely no compassion, no love, no humanity makes me sick. How could anyone treat an animal that way, but a human being even worse this was their child, how much she must have suffered to the very end, it breaks my heart. 😢
