I think that the repost button is MANDATORY FOR CELEBRITIES VIDEOS because they are popular and in the comments it will show you reposted. Others seeing you reposted in comments may gain you a followr

Because, it was through your repost they came into contact with the video. hence, why you got notified. If they had directly seen the video from the source you wouldn't have gotten notified.

yep all of them still belong to the original creator. All you are doing is basically pushing the video into your followers feed.
