Jamaican Jerk Seasoning on Focaccia Genovese - Spicy Experiment #1
Welcome to the first video in my spicy "Will it Jerk"! series. In this video, we'll be exploring the flavors of Jamaican jerk seasoning by applying it to a delicious and traditional foccacia bread; focaccia Genovese.
Jamaican jerk seasoning is a blend of spices that typically includes allspice, thyme, garlic, and scotch bonnet peppers. It's a popular seasoning in Jamaican cuisine and is known for its spicy, smoky, and complex flavor.
In this series, I'll be testing the limits of Jamaican jerk seasoning by applying it to foods, that are not typically associated with these flavors. I'll be using a homemade jerk seasoning blend and applying it the focaccia bread before baking it in the oven.
I'll then taste test the bread and see how well the flavors of the jerk seasoning complement the bread. Will it be a match made in heaven or a spicy disaster? You'll have to watch to find out!
Don't forget to like and subscribe for more spicy experiments in my upcoming videos. Thanks for watching!

The spices are about right, and really outside of the carabian islands the recipes change quite a bit. They use a shocking amount of allspice (pimento) in their jerk and that can be really off-putting.

Cool, good to know. I tried not to go overboard with the allspice in this. The final balance of flavours was pretty good.

@@AdventuresInSnacking in large amounts allspice starts to act like Szechuan pepper, hot, numbing, and a very strong flavour that will overtake everything else. I would try it one time, but just not when cooking for other people. lol
