This was very helpful! So it sounds like blocking messages from someone just hides me from seeing them. The blocking option still allows them to keep sending things feeling like it’s just waiting to be read eventually. Wish I could just eliminate Messenger and it’s button entirely!

Hello I have a question when you block a friend in FB and messenger but they have a group chat in messenger with that friend that you block it is possible they can exchange conversation using a incrypted message? And how to do that?

But how does blocking affect the news feed? If I block someone on Messenger only, will I still get their news posts in my newsfeed?

No you do remain friends. A block on messenger does not trigger unfriending.

This is not true If someone blocks you on Facebook Messenger, you can't send them messages or make audio or video calls. You also can't see their posts or activities. Here are some signs that you've been blocked on Messenger: You can't send messages or call the person who blocked you. You can't see the person's posts. Old conversations will still be in your inbox, but the person's name won't be clickable. Blocked messages are indefinitely shown as "Sent" and never delivered. If the person has been on Facebook or Messenger, but the "Sent" icon never changed in your conversation, you're blocked on Messenger. Blocking someone on Messenger also blocks their profile on Facebook.

idk. But in my case, I only blocked that person on messenger, but after weeks I can still receive messages from that person, though I can't see what is was cause it only shows "sent a message". I tried experimenting after that incident, I notice that if you blocked them only on messenger, they can still message you but the recipient won't see that message. But if you block that person on facebook on the "settings" and "blocking", that will be the only way they won't be able to message you.
