I found it hard to be good in RDR2 as Aruther. I was Lawful Neutral, and was leaning towards good before Aruther (I found the end fight fit me well because he went down with a fight while John got to run away).

I felt so bad after I killed his father, I changed my whole lifestyle around and got high honor.

What’s really sad is that if you look around the house and go through the dads drawer, you can find a letter his ex wife wrote to her son saying how she was sorry for leaving but couldn’t stand his alcoholic father and as soon as he writes back to her she will send for him and they will be together. I left him alive solemnly because I hoped after I killed his dad he would be reunited with his mom.

This makes me so sad, for the family I feel so much guilt and shame even tho I didn't do anything. It's played so well and if it's just the game, Rockstar really managed make emotions a real deal in rdr2. When I'll play that mission, I'll hate myself I have to pull the trigger on one.

When I came back as John a long time after, I completely forgot what house this was. Seeing the kid grab a knife, the first instinct was to throw tnt in the room and run out. Then it dawned on me who Nate was and I felt a bit sad. But explosions go boom so it's not all bad

I remember this encounter as a strauss mission, so you just went to that house on your own, killed the guy and robbed the house? Damn, they thought of several possibilities even for such a minor event... When I came back as arthur, he attacked me for "murdering" his dad (who tries to kill you in the mission) and I stabbed him. Came back again in the epilogue and the house was empty and rotten.

This is the only game where I feel sympathy to the NPCs. Rockstar really did well on immersing the emotions that NPCs give when do something to them.

So cool to see how much personality and humanness they were able to inject into this game. That being said, you’re a monster.

This was the mission that made me stop doing Strauss missions on my first play-through (which is a shame cause the Strauss missions following this one is when Arthur finally turns around and starts helping the debtors). I just felt so horrible for coming into this random kid’s home, killing his (albeit abusive) father, stealing what few valuables they had, and then leaving him stranded in the middle of the swamps, alone. I wish they let Arthur offer to give the kid a ride to his mom’s home.

@@Batman-ro9mj When I played as Arthur I avoided the Aberdeen Pig Farm until i had a ton of money then I visited the farm and let them rob me. Then when you wake up from the pit don't go back as Arthur. Go back as John and take your money back. All of it should be behind the painting. That along with the money in the mail and you'll be filthy rich!

I heard shouting in the house so I entered, they told me to leave but I thought there could be someone I could help like in some encounters, so I stayed. The old bloke starts fighting me so I hogtied him. When his son asked for me to spare him, I untied him only to be hit again, when I pressed malee attack Arthur thrusts a knife in his belly. Sad

this is why red dead is best game ever. attention to detail is amazing
