As an Afghan, i am very surprised how much we are connected with our brother nation, India. I recently bought a DNA-test, and the results indicated that 45% of my heritage are from India. Therefor i feel more connected with India than ever before.

I work in the Exports Division of large Indian auto maker. And wherever I travel in the developing world there is so much love for India and Indians. There was a time when the world was without borders and travellers from Turkey, Syria, Morocco, the CIS countries would come to a India. And if you meet the common people we realize that borders have not been able to erase that shared history, brotherhood and culture. Fun is explaining the meaning and significance of the Amitabh Bachchan movie dialogue 'Rishte me toh hum tumhare baap lagte hain' to a dozen taxi drivers in Casablanca, Morocco!

manas pandey firstly not all people in a particular country, religion, ethnicity, race etc are bad, but what is important is the majority, one instance of good will and you start to preach people why don't you go and speak to the sufferers of 26/11 and other terrorist attacks and also the families of soldiers who died and were mutilated by these people, if that guy helped you then he is a human being not a Pakistani he doesn't subscribe to the ideology of Pakistan but that doesn't mean he represents the whole Pakistan, people like you don't allow to address the problem.

During my 75 day stay in Europe in early 2015, I met many Pakistanis, Afghans and Bangladeshis. All meetings were wonderful, cordial and memorable, but the ones with Afghans stood out. The Afghan people turned out to be the most welcoming, showing no hesitation in opening up and talking their hearts out. Though I was aware that most Afghans understand Hindi / Urdu, the level of their fluency surprised me! With the Pakistanis, we always had a cold start, with both the parties hesitating to open up, thanks of course to the uneasy relationship between the countries. But our interactions always ended on a high! The funniest part is that not one Pakistani out of the many that I met correctly pointed out my nationality in one go. They all took me as a Pakistani, and then would wryly end up saying "Ham hi pehchan naheen paaye, Indians aur Pakistaniyon mein koi fark naheen hai" when I told them that I'm from Delhi. Bangladeshis were fine people too, but meetings with them turned out to be the coldest. Not that they weren't welcoming; they sold their products to us at heavily discounted rates when they realised that we were Indians, but somehow they lacked the enthusiasm that the Afghans and even Pakistanis showed. I guess it was a cultural difference between North West India and East India / Bangladesh, or those Bangladeshis might have been more expressive had they met an Indian Bengali. Whatever the reason, even the Bangladeshis were welcoming to us! However, as already said, of all the nationalities that I met, the Afghans were the best and interactions with them stand out as the most memorable! The most memorable is an encounter that I had on a TGV enroute Paris and another fantastic encounter was onboard a regional German train from Munich. Both those Afghan people were wonderful people, full of energy and life!!
