What Happens When a Virus Hijacks Your Heart?

Ғылым және технология

Myocarditis, a rare heart condition that can stem from some common viruses and bacterial infections, often affects young people, has very few symptoms, and goes largely undiagnosed.

In this SICK, we sit down with Dr. DeLisa Fairweather, a PhD researcher from the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. Dr. Fairweather has studied myocarditis for roughly 25 years.
Unlike atherosclerosis, which is commonly linked to heart attacks, and involves your vessels and arteries, Myocarditis is an inflammation of the heart muscle itself and is often caused by viral infections, like Coxsackie (a.k.a. hand, foot, and mouth disease), influenza, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, or HIV.
Myocarditis occurs when said viruses that normally infect another part of the body, like the gut or the lung, go to the heart.
But what happens when the virus gets to your heart and why does it travel to your heart in the first place?
Find out the answer and more in this SICK.

Myocarditis - Causes and Symptoms

Myocarditis is an inflammation of the heart muscle (myocardium). Myocarditis can affect your heart muscle and your heart's electrical system, reducing your heart's ability to pump and causing rapid or abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias).

Parasitic infections in humans can lead to myocarditis, a disease that causes heart tissue inflammation. Parasites can also cause pericarditis, an inflammation of the membrane around the heart; and cardiomyopathy, a disorder that impedes pumping and can lead to heart failure, researchers reported in a study published in the journal Clinical Microbiology Reviews.

Nick Alemán you do not have to be rich to order a few comprehensive blood panels/year. I don’t really trust doctors either, and would agree that routine blood work is strong tool to living a long & healthy life. However, I think the middle class can spare a few hundred dollars/year to stay ahead of the pack. Sure, you can spend a little more on TRT therapy or something but even then it’s comparable to a monthly car payment. If you’re in the middle class, it’s largely a matter of priorities whether you can afford it or not. When the rich & famous are asked the popular question: “what is your first piece of advice for people looking to improve their lives?” Usually, one of the first things that comes out of their mouth is to first invest in yourself 💪🧘🏼‍♂️ and that doesn’t mean to get all boujee everything on the banks dime either...

I’m so sorry about that. My dad has giant cell myocarditis, which is very rare. He had a heart transplant last December and was ignoring the symptoms for months. My mom insisted that he go to the emergency room because his stomach pain was so bad, and it turned out he had late stage heart failure. We just thought it was severe food poisoning. The doctor said he probably wouldn’t have survived another night at home. He had to be shocked several times that evening and we thought he wouldn’t make it. Thankfully he did, and was lucky enough to get a great donor match within a few months. We are also lucky enough to live in Minnesota, with an advanced heart hospital. Many doctors do not know how to treat this.

Lucky you to have intuitive mother.. I never took the vax, and had myocarditis, 4 days at the hospital HBR in 30 for 4 days straight, extreme weakness and hot and cold flashes.. they never were certain on what caused it. Tested me for like 17 Viruses and all came back negative, only Rona antibodies came back positive at 160.

So I've read covid-19 can directly infect the heart and cause this condition. I mostly likely have this. I have all symptoms and a week has gone by. I'm so worried. My symptoms: Chest pain or tension become worse day by day now, faster from merely walking. I also have developed arrytmia and tachycardia in a short period, maybe weeks or a single week. My heart seems to work at full speed. Poor heart. And my lungs are affected, I get that feeling you get during a jog, the way breathing feels, while resting (been like that for a couple of weeks). I guess it was a really early sign. Doctors have only looked at the heart through electrocardiogram and taken blood and so on. No heart desease presents. I hope I will be listened to, before it's too late. I'm young and healthy otherwise.

This article might enlighten you www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2019/01/190121115403.htm The goal is is to increase our macrophage, since some viruses can skip our gut and go to the heart because it wants to highjack it by releasing cd47 a attack mechanism released by viruses to trick our heart into letting it stay this doing damage. But we have to ignore that and make our macrophage "eat" the virus, I suggest increasing you're omega 3 levels like salmon, anchovies, since these sources help our brain "not listen" to enemy viruses, and kill them, also using high grade probiotics (30billion or upwards) to increase our front line defense , hope that helps stay safe brother
