If you press "How is it going?" on the pregnant horse it will actually tell you how far they are into the pregnancy

From what I've seen in regards to horse genetics (from other videos - haven't bought the pack myself) the foal is either a carbon copy of the mother or the father. So maybe Hank and Shimmer's next baby would be pink. 50/50 chance and all that. Also, there's a cheat that makes the pets selectable, but the moodlets are kind of wonky. It's "pets.toggle_selectable_pets" and apparently needs to be reset if you travel.

Most horned animals irl actually either have really small nubs that grown into large horns later or are born without horns and only grow horns as they mature. It would make sense unicorns (if they existed) gave birth to babies either without horns or with horns not quite at their full point they'll have at maturity. Horse birth in general (no horn) is pretty tough on a horse. Foals are pretty big babies still coming out of a comparatively small 'exit' point.

I loved the unicorns in TS3. They were a pain in the ass to befriend without cheats, but it ended up being worth it. This makes me sad.

In case you didn't know, The horse's offspring can only ever be their mom's looks, or their dads looks.. That's it! Enjoy! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D LETS GO SIMS 4... Stepping as far away from Sims 3, but in the opposite direction :D

i mean they get the coat of one parent or the other, but ive been playing a horse breeder and and gotten a lot of foals and not a single one has been identical to a parent

​@@ohlookabee8615I think IRL tho, foals tend to look like mom or dad and not a mix. From what I've seen of Sims foals, if their is once normal horse and one colored bright colors, the game tends to favor the more standard genetics. But I could be wrong. Haven't been playing just watch let's plays.

I literally saw some mixed horses, not just identical to their parents 😅 like foal had mane after one of parents and rest after the other But I'm not sure how exactly this works

unfortunately, a unicorn is not an actual thing in the game. You're just dressing a regular horse up. 😢😢😢😢😢😢

In sims 3 you can control your pets so i find it really weird you cant do in in s4.Makes the gameplay so much harder lol

So, fun detail. There's a cheat for controllable pets, no mod necessary. It's a pain cause you have to redo it every time you travel though.

The horses are so cute

The unicorn looks like a rainbow paddlepop. I love it. EDIT: Hank is a brilliant name, have not watched all of the video yet, PLEASE tell me the foal is named 'Hanky-Pokey', a cross between hokey-pokey and hanky-panky.

I miss the fenetic system of the sims 3. It made fun combos man. The genes for this one just suck comparitevly when it comes to animals.

It doesn’t. It has unicorn horns which can be passed onto their offspring (I think), but they are purely cosmetic.

@@StoryGirl83 They can't really be passed down because it's clothing. Clothing doesn't come because mom and dad are wearing clothing. Sims dresses townies how they want, same with foals, they can sometimes come with blanket on them or the hats, idk about horns but since it's just another clothing, then probably, doesn't mean it's because anyone's a unicorn.. because there are no unicorns. You're gluing a horn to a horse lol

@@Dubstequtie Since it's not in the clothing category, it's definitely not glued on. It's meant to be an actual horn (even tho it has no function and isn't genetic).

@@Dubstequtie Gotcha. I don’t have the pack and I’ve only seen videos and in the videos baby unicorns only showed up in CAS and only if one of the parents was a unicorn, so I wasn’t sure. Thank you for the correction.

Unicorns aren't it's own thing. It's just a horse with an accessory. :( The foals usually just get the hair of one horse and the coat of the other or just inherit all the looks from one horse, like in this video. It's really disappointing. -_-
