I did not understand when you say to disconnect the battery; are you talking about the hybrid battery that is under the rear seat, so in that case where is that plug or are you talking about the 12 V battery under the hood? I've also been advised to leave the hybrid battery charged to 50%, i.e. 4 bars max on the display. Thank you for your reply, which will be scrupulously implemented very soon for 60 days. 🤝

Fantastic channel. My mom parked her Hyundai Santa Fe hybrid at the airport for 2 months and flew to Mexico. Winter. On returning the 12 volt battery is dead. The dealer charged her 600$ to replace it. This car is less than 1 year old. The next morning the new battery is fully discharged

Great video/info! I worry about my 2019 prius. It has 26,000 km (I had to convert😂). During covid, I didnt go out much. And winter, also. I will need to find a place who will DO maint like u do. U are a "neat freak" AND THAT'S A COMPLIMENT! U take SUCH pride in your work! That's a lucky customer.🇺🇸

6:34 i live in FL, what is your point when you said service your battery ? Sorry is just i don't understand...!😅 do dealerships tell owners or the manual said anything about service... So what is your point... I know oil change, fluids, etc need be done to maintain your vehicle on optimal conditions, but there's not such thing here in the USA about service a hybrid.. here is just swap and done😅 topically American way... But I found your channel very informative and help a lot to those like me that are poor and can't afford thousands in repair..

is there a way to charge high voltage battery without taking it off?

Hey HSD, thanks for sharing as usual. I recently checked out a 2015 Honda Vezel hybrid in a used car mart. I asked about the battery and the guy told me that warranty is only on the transmission and engine as per normal. It's done around 66k km and I noticed it was imported early 2020. It is an open top car mart and the car is in the sun 24*7*365. It is in good visual condition but for fear of the condition of the battery I decided to run. Each time I drove by I look to see if it's there...there was a 2016 that was sold. Pretty much same condition...sad 😔

Thank you for this video it is very informative. I have a 2016 toyota axio hybrid and I haven't driven it for about 5 months. When I charged it and started it drives but as soon as I turn it off I goes dead again. Could that be the reason or do I need to charge it for longer. I gave it about 5 mins charge from another car.

If you have to store a hybrid with lithium-ion battery pack for 6-12 months, what is the best way to store it to minimize damage to battery? Run hybrid battery to 40-60% and then disconnect 12V battery? Is that different if it is a NIMH battery pack?

Hey bro i love all your videos my water pump went bad at 160k miles it was overheating ,coolant would over flow in reservoir tank. The red temperature light would flash i already fix the problem the only thing is i see a little air bubbles in the reservoir tank. I already blend the system watching a video of a Toyota master mechanic and another person its still there what could it be. I dont think its the headgasket oil is normal i dont lose any coolant at all.

hi Just replaced on my Lexus RX450h year 2010 the hybrid battery at 359000km, i am the fifth owner, i tought that the culprit was the ethanol , i got while running a sudden lake of power on my accelerator then no response from the gas pedal.

Well, you should recharge the battery to keep that drain from happening. Should you? Or should you let the battery go? Totally dead and rejump. The u b m s chip in it to put the correct voltage in it?

Don't buy. That's the best advice.

There should be a constant like if it sets for 30 days chances are it will be OK if the car will start I take it that its a Nickle Metal Hydride or is it a lithium Ion battery?

I live in the cold part of Canada, and travel overseas during winter. I’m considering buying a ‘17 RAV4 Hybrid. The car would be stored in an UNHEATED garage for three months over the winter. Should I just buy a non-hybrid RAV4? Could the battery be removed and stored inside? (I’m not the worst diy guy)

Hi really enjoy watching your videos I have a 2014 Toyota Auris every now and then it shows check hybrid faults with codes p0a80 and c1269 and c1310. Any help on what it could be. I’ve checked on launch tool and all blocks showing similar values of around 15.5 Thanks

Thanks for this informative video. I own a toyota 2011 auris hybrid with 238 000 km. I recently noticed the hybrid fan a bit loud(maybe I didn't pay attention to it before) at times. My avrg mpg is 53. I want to know if it is normal for the fan to be loud even if a keep it very clean or is it a sign that the battery is on it its way out.

Problably batteries are heating more than ussual due to resistance... it is normal over time but should be corrected asap 👋😎

How to correct it? I recently moved the modules that were in the middle towards the edges and connected all the modules in parallel for 24h. Is that enough?

If it's a li-ion battery it should be fine... no need to recharge under normal conditions of course...

Does the same happen to hyundai/KIA 8.9 kwh battery packs (niro, ceed, xceed...)?

Hey there Hope all is good! A quick question unfortunately my LCD panel is just showing data when it turns on and stays black Do you have any idea on what would be the source of the problem That happened after I replaced the main hybrid battery and I try to start the car without connecting the positive side on the 12V battery ooopps!! My bad 😣 It does come on when you turn the ignition on and after that it goes dark. Would you think is a fuse? or I’ve ruined the LCD? Appreciate any insight that you can share with me Thank you so much Eddie

Excellent video! I'm looking at a Note 2020 E13 with only 3k on it. It is flashing up e power service warning light. Its an amber not red. The 12v battery didnt work and I'm wondering is this the culprit with the lack of use? The car has been sittin in a dealership for nearly a year. It may have the same fault as this. The car is in perfect condition and they are bright the price down quite a bit. The issue is im in NZ and the latest Note epower is too new to service. Is this something I can do myself with cleaning the corrosion off the battery points? What could I use? Does isoprop solution work?Also can an ECM code reset do the trick?

You will have to access the poles and connect a charger then...

How long can you store before the battery is compromised? What do you mean “for some time?” This video is not very helpful, since it does not provide any actionable info.
