Pretty sure the chords in the second to last measure should be written D-F#-A-B then D-Fnatural-A-Bb

@@Ryan2Bussinwhat helped me with learning the right notes when reading sheet music when I was in high school was learning relative pitch. First learn the key signatures. Then learn to identify intervals and chords on sheet music, and also to identify those same patterns by ear.

Very good but at bar 3 the second chord has an f natural and not an e sharp. This is because in this bar is present a minor plagal cadence (IV-iv-I). The IV is D major so no problem there, but the iv minor is a D minor, which has an f natural and not an e sharp. Also e sharp going to e natural in the next bar just kinda looks bad. Also Also the e sharp creates am augmented second with the d, and an f natural would just create a minor third, which is the interval we want in a minor chord. So yeah minor plagal cadence, remember this, it’s used a lot in barbershop.

@@Stuffmusic1864 I actually didn’t write this… This tag is originally sang on “When it’s sleepy time down south”, but several decades ago my grandpa rewrote it as “Now it’s time to say goodnight”!

This tag originally is sung as “When it’s sleepy time down south”, but we changed it to “Now it’s time to say goodnight”. If you are looking for the full song, you are probably better off searching for the “When it’s sleepy time down south”. Thanks for your comment!

4th measure definetely does not have a C natural, sounds like a Bm7, unless the guy is just singing it very quietly. It would be interesting to have a D7 there but it's not what's sounding. Also 3rd beat of 4th measure is a D minor chord, E# has no function

barbershop harmony be tricky, BUT that’s the kicker of the whole art form anyway. the tag does have a C natural for some added tension and a IV-I can easily be changed into a iv-I (as used in common core theory via borrowed chords/modal mixture). barbershop harmony theory breaks a lot of classical theory rules, which makes a lot of room for harmonically complex progressions and resolutions.
