To be fair, he could've just asked someone or watched a video about it on youtube posted by the company. People putting camera's in the bathroom shouldn't be encouraged. It is actually super common in Korea for establishments to have camera's in the bathroom. Sometimes even in you're own apartment. Supposedly it's to keep you safe, but everyone knows they're likely selling the footage to weirdos and creepers online.

After a few seconds, the door opened, and she had to jump up and hurry to put her pants back on. Then she had to come outside and wait for it to clean itself before going back in. Thankfully, she hadn’t already started going, but it was definitely a close call. 😬

There's a KZread video of someone who did this in NYC on purpose and it's super funny.

Went to one in southern France The toilet didn't fold away there, water was projected at high speed across the top of toilet. Wanna know how I figured that out? Had to pay a few quid to go in. My sister went second. Suddenly we hear this banging on the door, and she's screaming. Turns out the loo had gotten confused, and not only locked her in there but also turned off the lights (it was pitch black) and started spraying water. Scared the hell out of her. We pumped a good chunk of money in there before the toilet released her.

I actually was inside one of these types of restrooms while it was cleaning when I was in Carcassonne France. It had a regular door and the way it was supposed to work is it would lock between each person using it for the cleaning phase, however, I caught the door from the person in front of me. When I walked in, I noticed it was dark and the toilet lid was slowly raising (the whole toilet didn’t retract like in this video). I went closer to examine what was going on and was definitely surprised when the lid started getting violently power washed. I quickly backed up and was waiting for it to do its thing. However, after a moment the water started gushing out from the floor which really made me panic. This is when I decided to abandon the restroom but the door was locked and only had a basic handle. I was in full panic mode as I was in a dark sealed chamber filling up with water so I was just banging and yanking on the door. I finally realized that to open the door a button on the wall had to be pushed so I made it out. People in the line after me were laughing which was a bit embarrassing but it was a funny moment and quite the memory.

If you don't speak French, ask someone for the directions. My dear husband who didn't listen when I told him not to touch anything without asking me, decided to hit the self cleaning button (he thought it was a lock button) while I was in the midst of doing my business. Thankfully a gallant Frenchman blocked the open door until I could get myself pulled together. Very embarrassing!

In France: There's a self cleaning public restroom, But... There's no self cleaning Public Sidewalk.

I watched John Wilson’s episode about public toilets in New York and he talked about how there’s a few of these. He managed to convince the bathroom he’d left by sitting on the sink. The ones in New York don’t clean as thoroughly lmao it still sprayed the floor but the toilet just had a little splash of water thrown on it
