What happens in a hospital LABORATORY?

Most of us have had a blood sample taken at one time or another, but what happens next? And what else goes on behind the closed doors of a hospital laboratory? Find out what Trios Spokeskids Ethan, Jacquelynn, and Lizzy learned when they were invited to explore the lab at Trios Southridge Hospital with medical technologist Shaun.

Loved it, as a scientist he’s talking about tests I learned in school and techniques I’ve used in the lab too. But I love how he’s explaining the whole process

Do workers only work for a certain department and they only stay in that specific department? For instant my dad works in the clinical chemistry department does it mean that he cant go to the hematology department or in the microbiology department

Depends on what he specialized in.. if he specialized in chemistry (mono discipline) then he can only work there, however if he did clinical pathology which is heamatolgy, chemistry and microbiology. Then he can work in any of the labs.

I had a Chemistry textbook in the 10th grade, but did not have a Chemistry laboratory in the school so I have always wanted to be a Phlebotomist, but have been told not to get another job. I hardly have any money. The teacher in H.S. was not a certified teacher nor Chemistry certified teacher. I found out in 1999 I have Aspergers Syndrome.
