He was supposed to die in the mission the green sabre in the first GTA SA script but Rockstar changed their mind just before releasing the beta of the game so he was always supposed to betray CJ and Sweet alongside Smoke.

@@thestrong2401 im pretty sure in the introduction smoke tries to force ryder to join smoke's side, but considering ryder's missions benefiting grove. and not putting us in giant danger due to crash besides one mission where both can't stand him and the fact ryder sounds like he has just repeated lines in his last mission. he wasn't gonna be a bad guy and wasn't gonna join smoke, but wasn't gonna tell cj and sweet anything because smoke would kill him if he did and no one would believe ryder

This is what happen when CJ realize that he can save and load as well as playing a new game.

Jokes aside, he made a pretty good mission in DYOM.

It was for the stealth based missions… but in lot of places including some of his apartments you can experience this..mostly in the places where you will find shadows

Roc ThaIce yeah a few missions in you find out that Ryder and big smoke betray you. And I’m just saying that cause if they were willing to work with the feds and they’re dead, they would still betray cj and snitch that he killed some cops and try to get a reward or something. They were already shady enough to betray grove street so why not turn some members in for a quick buck.
