What happens when you occasionally add some oil due to oil consumption? My engine uses 2.8 liters of 10w-40 oil and I replace oil and oil filter every 10.000 kilometers. I add 500ml of oil every 2.500 kilometers, so at the moment of each oil change, some of the oil is only used for as long as 2.500 kilometers.

Nothing much... it's an average oil consumption, not excessive yet. Excessive becomes at over 1L/1000km. So you can't do much right now. Maybe check/change the oil rings and check for other gasket leaks.

It would be a good idea to check your title and change the second 'to' to the word 'the' for at conveying proper English. I enjoyed your content and it makes good sense.
