Y’all think it’s for a combo? The most likely reason is he was catching a ton of them to try to get a shiny Alolan rattata... clearly he knows you only need a 31 combo so why would he catch millions of rattata for a wild shiny

Imagine the Elite Four having to fork over all their money over and over again as some random kid severely abuses the fact that there's no limit to challenging them.

As you can see the flock of wild Moltres are busy relaxing in their natural habitat the Go Park. Though they are extremely rare they have been seen on rare occasions to assemble a flock of up to 31. When a flock of 31 Moltres appear the sky is lit brightly by a light like that of volcanic lava. One such flock appeared in Sinnoh once searing the ground in a rose colored inferno. Those who see the flock are bestowed a member of the flock as a sign of friendship.

this is interesting......I had basically the same exact experience, albeit with different mons, under exact same circumstances, same way, same place...….different decision as the shiny that did appear (not the one I was hunting for) was a charizard

The real interesting thing here would be 31-comboing and then proceeding to the static spawn to see what the results would be, assuming you can leave them unmolested until then.

I had a 31 chain of chansey and then found a shiny Rydon lol

The fact that other shiny Pokemon can show up while doing a combo chain of another Pokemon is kind of common knowledge. It increases the chance for all Pokemon not just the one you are chaining. This is coming from the guy who found a shiny Pidgey, Pidgeotto and 2 shiny Abras while trying to hunt a completely different Pokemon.

My first rattata: *gleam* Me: “Ooh, does this place have green rattatas? 0o0” Lol

Have you caught the static Moltres in Let’s go? They don’t appear in the wild at all until that happens

"I wanted a lot of legendary pokémon to spawn in this video" The irony is, as we now know (thanks to Anubis), the increased shiny chance from catch comboing 31 of the same species only applies to the next pokemon of that species to appear. So if a lot of Moltres had spawned for you in this vid only the first one would've had the increased shiny odds and you'd have to keep catching Moltres to get 1/273.53 shiny odds on subsequent Moltres.

Ive been doing a lot of shiny hunting recently using a catch combo on Weedle. Ive encountered Articuno twice and Moltres and Zapdos each once in the wild while only encountering two shiny pokemon. Based on my experiences so far, I think the legendaries are less rare than shinies.

I was hunting for shiny ponyta...got shiny rapidash. I had to blink and confirm that evos don't count towards combo.

Imagine doing this back then and then finding out later that haveing a chain of 31 only applies to the next spawn coming out 😏

the spearow hurts even more now when we learned catch combos only affect the next spawn and not overall shiny chance for all spawns...atleast shiny spearow is probably one of the easiest shinies to get in tjis game i guess

I’d be interested to see if a 31 catch combo affects the odds of finding a shiny legendary where they just normally spawn by soft resetting. Like if you could Combo 31 mewtwo and then go to cerulean cave and soft reset for a shiny mewtwo, would that increase the chance that you find a shiny? That would be pretty cool if you could abuse that. You could technically abuse that to get a 6 perfect iv legendary too I suppose

Deadboy Draco saw them a whole bunch last night because I was trying to get a couple of shiny Vulpix. I alternated between the east and west side of saffron city. Porygon appears on the west side when you have a high chain going and Chansey on the east side.

It's a special spawn. I wouldn't say it's rare, but it's super hard to find unless you have a good catch combo.

Its his catch combo. When you have a high combo of any pokemon, special spawns like Porygon, Kanto Starters, Snorlax, Hitmons, Dragonite and Lapras will pretty much be gaurenteed. Because of his Moltres chain and his lure, he's basically always gonna find Dragonite, Charizard and Porygon hanging out on Route 7. Only limit is that only one of each can be up at a time.

I have 70 hours of gameplay in the Eevee version and have only ever seen 3 wild Moltres (non-shiny), while I was shiny hunting (so I had catch combos). And it was in three different spots. Ironically I've never run into the other birds in the wild!

I wish you had waited to see if the shiny spearow would despawn and then respawn. It would provide answers to the “old spawn” or “stale spawn” rumors.

@@Drakowyn Moltres is in Mt. Silver, Zapdos is right next to the power plant, and articuno is in some cave, in heartgold and soulsilver

While watching this video I found a full odds shiny graveler in cerulean cave my catch combo on chansey literally just broke and then I found the shiny graveler so thank you pdwindall even if this video is really old

Probably: Thunderbolt for Lorelei, Psychic for Bruno and Agatha, Ice Beam for Lance and a filler move to kill anything else.

@@diode_wow I actually use. Brickbreak for Lorelli , earthquake for Bruno# ice punch for the Poison lady, Poison jab for the dragon dude. (Forgot names sorry lol) and whatever i need to for the champion

Lvl 50 jolteon with maxed IV with thunderbolt will clear every encounter and head butt for the others or whatever you want. I did all the fights in the same time with 0 challenge.

A 31 combo of any pokemon increases rare and shiny rate for all pokemon. Having a 31 combo for the particular pokemon u want to be shiny only effects the IVs ensuring a 4 perfect iv shiny

I think legendary birds are more likely to spawn near the caves that you can originally find them in. I've found articunos near the sea foam islands when shiny hunting for lapras.
