The fact of the matter is this is how sports work and trying to explain away losses like this is weak. And for the record im not a celtics fan so this isnt based on a bias

Middleton got hurt because the basketball gods were absolutely disgusted that a supposedly physical and tough team like the Bucks decided to be testicle-less and complete chicken shit by avoiding the Heat through tanking easy winnable games, and opting to face a weak ass Bulls team in the 1st round instead. Middleton slips on air vs the Bulls, and his career is compromised. How about stop being a bitch and go play real teams?

When teams are injured I’m tired of people saying if they had a certain player 2 they would’ve won a series, because they didn’t have that player and there is no way to know if that hypothetical is even accurate, all we know for sure is one team won and one team lost. 0:34 - If that happens, Paul George probably leaves because Dallas knocked them out. Or he re-ups and the 'he doesn't care about winning' narrative begins. 3:43 - They probably use the Zion injury angle to justify staying put. Especially in a market where it's hard for them to get talented guys. 5:40 - They pick from their bag of mostly valid excuses (No Giannis, coaching change mid season, Lillard's personal life this year) and run it back. 9:49 - Mitchell leaves and everyone gets fired. Orlando and Philly kick the tires on him, but he scoffs at all of those ideas and goes to Miami for not as much money as he thought he'd get. 11:31 - The 'Luka for MVP' stuff becomes unbearable and will only be topped by the eventual 'how did we ever think Jokic wasn't the best player in the world?' stuff around the midpoint of next season. It won't get as toxic as Embid vs Jokic last year, but it'll come pretty close. 13:20 - (assuming nobody gets hurt) Knicks fans justifiably think they're winning the whole thing. Celtics fans call for Mazulla to be fired again, and the Celtics double down, blame bad luck, the 'stars don't win until they're 27' stat gets thrown around to defend Tatum again, they fail to look at their chocking culture (thank you Brad Stevens) and double down again by resigning everyone (hello peyton pritchard overpay). 18:18 - If Pheonix loses, coach gets fired and Durant has a whole summer of burner account tweets saying cryptic things and tries to get himself traded to whoever wins the title this year; unless it's Boston. If Minnesota loses, they publicly say 'we're young and growing together' while they subtly shopping KAT. 20:24 - Harden 100% gets paid by somebody.

To actually answer the 'what happens if the Celtics lose?' to anyone question, it'll play out something like this. Fans call for Mazulla to be fired again, we have another whole summer of 'guys don't win until they're 27' stat to protect Tatum (despite this being his 3rd or 4th legit crack at a ring and you don't get to pick when your window is as a franchise), the front office doubles down on this roster by overpaying Peyton Pritchard and blaming bad luck as opposed to actual introspection of 'hmm maybe Brad Stevens is the reason this core is so soft mentally'. In short, nothing changes if the Celtics lose; which isn't particularly interesting to talk about. Even though you're 100% correct that they have no excuses this and next year (assuming everyone stays healthy).

The dagger, blowing by Draymond Game 6. Scoring more points than Pippen and he and Kawhi matching MJ and Pippens highest playoff points. Ya. BI just like that. Oh, Ben Simmons too.

So disrespectful to Chauncey... if he was a shot chucker, got away with carrying on EVERY possession, was a top 5 flopping foulgrifter in the league, and hijacked an offense the way little Brunson does, Billups would easily be a better scorer than JB. Chauncey ran an ACTUAL offense in an era of insane defense, was efficient in it, and was an ELITE defensive guard which you could NEVER say about little Jalen. He whipped Kobe so hard, Shaq was traded away.
