You would because the only way to skip getting the invitation is by starting from a different place and to do that you’d need to play the mission again.

still would of been cool for them to think "ok but what if..."

In the first playthrough of the mission, none of the exits are usable except the one that involves dancing with Diana, forcing you to come into physical contact with her even if you didn't approach her at the start of the mission. I even tried making a new save and having her slip on a Banana peel, but she auto recovers after a few seconds and acts as if nothing happened so as not to soft lock you into being unable to exit. The sneaky devs.

I knew she poisoned him the first time I saw this mission. She never touches or caresses 47 otherwise. The only other time she's done it was in BM when she put a hand on his shoulder before she stabbed him with the experimental serum syringe. I've never trusted Diana since Blood Money so I wasn't really disappointed.

Well yes, but both times she did it as a means for 47 to get to the leader of the organisation that was threatening them e.g. BM : The Franchise This One: because otherwise 47 wouldn’t have managed to get to Arthur Edwards. She never actually betrays him. (I’m sure you know this, I’m just pointing it out in case)

She couldn't have poisoned him at the end as you'd most likely be wearing 47s suit after doing the mission story where you save Diana, and when you wear the suit you have gloves on

@@death_snowman7085 I don't think he doesn't or at least the version of 47's suit that I had he doesn't wear gloves when he dances, plus you don't always put on suit as a ending, you can end the mission on the tuxedo. But I probs when she touches him at the start 🤣 oh well it's a game who the fuck cares lol. I understand you comment though

@@aigener8 Yea, ikr. It's not really too clear. But then again. Hitman games's story has always been like "Yea Whatever." It's all about that gameplay I guess.

I think the fact is that the missions have a so-called canonical way of passing. Most likely, in this case, the canonical one is the meeting with Diana and saving her from Don Yates in the course of the mission story. It's like in Colorado, after the first playthrough, you can leave the mission in a different way than through the storm bunker., but the canonical escape is through the storm bunker with finding out new information about Providence and about Erich Soders.

@@jekksit To be fair 47, even in older game canon (assuming the singular 'scripted' event per mission in older games is the canonical way), doesn't always follow the Silent Assassin guidelines.

To be honest, the “betrayal” was a surprise but the way they talk to each other is like in code. Diana basically just told him it was the only way to get close to Arthur Edwards

Yeah, it seemed to me that it would be uncharacteristic to underestimate 47's neurological ability to fight it. Especially after the mission story in Chongqing where he uses sheer mental strength to kill Hush in the telepathy experiment thing

Either that or 47 is so good at acting he fooled himself.

If I had a nickel every time Diana poisoned me to get me in a prime position to kill someone important, I'd have 2 nickels! Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.

the thing is if nothing would've happened then the final mission couldn't have took place. diana was speaking all that bull to lure the guards on her side. she knew 47 was strong so she poisoned him in order to get him in to the constant - hence why grey tells 47 (even though he's his concience, but that makes even more sense) that even though "she has every right to" want him dead "after what they did", she didn't choose power, because she merely helped him. i mean let's be real: he's indestructable (unless you get into gunfights as a new player or run into fire or explode or something. then no he's very dieable) and she knows that

I knew since this was basically a soft reboot that Diana would “betray” 47, but in this case I find it funny. She had no real intention of letting 47 get hurt. It was all a show. She had no time to inform him of her plan, and she trusts in his ability absolutely. I had noticed the red flash, but Mendoza is the level I started having visual bugs, so I didn’t think anything of it. Nice touch, devs.

Throughout Hitman 3, 47 practices trigger discipline. He was unaware of Diana's plan, so in the cutscene 47 aims the gun at her with his finger on the trigger. The full cutscene isn't shown in this video but searching up "Hitman 3 necessary evil" will probably show it. I think its a really cool detail to show 47 feeling actually betrayed.

Just a cutscene where she tries it and doesn’t tell him but then when trying to kill her she touches him would be cool

I really thought there’s be something different considering they went to the effort of adding extra dialogue if you kill all 11 targets (or 10 depends where you start) in Berlin :/

Idk what I was expecting, or why I was watching...

47's Spidey-senses were tingling and he still trusted her anyways.

I expected nothing would change (even if it created a plot hole) because it is a pre-rendered cutscene and it's possible that they might have not really anticipated enough people purposely avoiding touching her. It would be cool if there was an alternate cutscene that played (and maybe 47 just gets shot by the people in the trees), but doing that would require an additional pre-rendered cutscene that, while nearly insignificant given the size of the other aspects of the game, still takes up some aditional memory. It would also require some additional code that tracks whether Diana touched 47 even when outside of the Mendoza level to make sure the correct cutscene is played. I loved the video! I never realized how the game foreshadows future events by using the injury screen effect!

I was disappointed by this. It is a natural thought that the devs should have had when working on the game. Oh, what if someone doesn't complete the mission this way, what if they do that way. They should have taken into consideratin all the possibilities.

Well, she touches him if you talk to her at the beginning and at the end when you dancing with her. So there is no avoiding it.

I remember this beinf an issue but the Canon actually states that 47s clothes or weapons also have the Toxin as Diana is usually the one who smuggles them in. So she doesn't even need to touch him at the party but it's likely u use a gun in the mission

i like that the canon suit for this mission is the white tux but in the end cutscene he wears his classic suit

What I don't get is if the 'canon' method of leaving is the dance with Diana, why even do the funky little hand touch in the first place since shes touches him much more naturally later

Definitely planned from the start. 47 and Diana do crazy things to get close to the target, which included poison in a past game too.

Am I the only one that didn't ever doubt Diana? Actually the cutscene where she triggers the poison felt almost like they rehearsed it, I don't really think 47 didn't know from the start that Diana was trying to get him close to the Constant. She even says he's cocky and that'll be his downfall, and that what must happen is that the Constant gets to 47/tracks him. During 47's reaction to the poisoning that "what... Have you done??" Felt so dramatic and honestly fake, I personally think he was in from the start, but then while having the nightmare he actually had second thoughts like "hold on... Maybe..." And it was his insecurities, not that he didn't suspect or knew about the plan

Not really surprise here as your objective (though evidently optional) is to speak to her, thus the story is linear to that path. It would be like not dancing with her at the end. To me, and the way it seems to be written, that should be your only exit the first time. It's not, but it should be, as the exit I chose where also the entrance, but I had to run by the dancehall in order to get there and there's no way you miss her standing there with a huge exit sign over her head.

Did you do this on a campaign new save? It's a long shot, but that could make a difference. EDIT: The only exit on the mission when first time playing is the tango dance if I remember correctly, so canonically 47 gets touched.

Neither were actual betrayals. In this case, Diana knew 47 could survive the poison, and predicted that The Constant would want to serum him and use him to aide Providence, so poisoning him was the only way to get close enough to the Constant to kill him. It worked, too.

@@dysphoria_1.040 The cool part is that the first time, Diana had to give him the guns and give the antidote and he instantly awoke and killed the enemies, whilst this time, his conscience, the thing he was designed not to have, kicked in, as he felt betrayed, but also hope. He knew that Diana tried to help him, not through an antidote or anything to help him, but just through trust. The one thing he was designed not to have is his peak character development, and it’s so interesting.

I knew who the female target was my first time around, so I shot her and hid. Then I killed Yates but killing everyone around him first, took his keys, and left. So I never touched or even saw her either.

@@dysphoria_1.040 I think the dream part is really cool because it shows his character development, and how he’s grown a conscience, the thing that the Fathers made him to not have. He felt a feeling a betrayal, something he wouldn’t have felt, and then he felt a feeling of hope or determination because he realized Diana tried to help. That little sequence that tries to show 47s struggle and fears also shows that he has developed into a greater person.

@@zeussoulhd2169 Diana is a handler, she doesn’t really have anything in terms of combat training, her desk jockey reflexes aren’t nearly as good as his superhuman soldier ones. Point shooting in absolution also shows us that 47 can take down at least 5 enemies before they can pull the trigger, not to mention with the regeneration ability he seems to have in this game, he could have easily won with player control. You forget the kind of combat situations 47 has been in: the asylum, redemption at gontrano, Hunter hunted (contracts), requiem, most of absolution, etc.
