Makes me wish there would be a feature were depending on how many spies or turncoats you have they'd all revel themselves all at once or in groups. Like say you had 12 spies and 4 betraying bodyguards at a fortress, the 12 spies would have like a prominent ringleader or two that would introduce themselves in behalf of the spies at the the fortress, a mass revel with maybe a few cutscenes showing other spies within this group doing some sabotaging of the enemy warlords defenses, turning other orcs to your (the player's) side and generally sowing chaos from within as stronghold is being attacked. As for the bodyguards betraying if you only had one among 4 as a turncoat, you could order them to attempt a assassination but it would be very risky, with all 4 turned however well you could potentially end a battle before it started with your inside 'men' (or orcs..) presenting the defeated warlord to you as a prize, alive or as a bloody, ugly head on a pike. These actions would have the benifit of long term strategic saving of assets and resources for other campaigns and endeavors with the downsides of initial investments into creating spies and inserting double agents. I'd also like to see less micro managment of your orc forces and commanders or atleast a much less tedious affair of ordering your underlings to do things, like maybe a message system of letters and runners to relay orders. Heck I'd even like to allow my orc officers to take initiative with some objectives as long as they meet a broad target goal (or broad target goals) you set for them, basically settling matters in their own ways, (still meeting you demands just not allways as expected) could lead to interesting if sometimes headache inducung misadventures. Atleast I think it'd be nice to expand on the options and scenarios that would and could play out in future titles. **Example: Think how a hot headed war chief vs a more calculating war chief might accomplish a similar goal of taking a small outpost or fort. The former would probably just rush in and kill everyone within while the latter would try and convince the garrison to surrender without a fight or else seek a way to sneak into the stronghold with a small force of 'men' (orcs) to take their foes by surprise while not risking potential heavy losses with a more direct assault.**

I’ve seen it in a video before. He still attacks you, but since he is yours you can simply hold B to get him to kneel before you and then just ask him to retreat, instantly winning the fortress battle

Basically all of the fort: Yoooo fam welcome back we were waiting for you

Im always worried that one of my orcs will betray me. Goodwork on this one.

I found once a strong one in the pits...he just didn't care about 25 lvl difference! Slaughtered everything I put in his way, so I recruited and promoted him. He became resistant to anything! Then he betrayed me .... needed 10 attempts to kill him!

Meh, I only care about one orc I’m max level so I just slaughter anyone who has iron will, or shame them till I can recruit them again

Once I got betrayed by three captains at once. I killed the first two but the last one beat me and became legendary. I struggled to kill him for ages since then.

@@Dead_Weight21 I mean, Shadow of War already handles a fairly large number of orcs on screen. With a bit of technological black magic, it may be possible on current hardware.

It would be simple to do, just have their AI be more complex based on proximity and number near the player, and have it balance out based on hardware. An alternative is the Dynasty Warriors style of having huge clumps of regular soldiers with basic AI and Officers/Heroes with advanced AI and abilities.

Advanced Kill3r when he was editing this video: Should I cut out the part where I brutally execute POWs, one after another, for a full minute? No. They need to see that shit.

It's not every day you can see an Uruk overlords head fall twice. Very interesting.

This is actually what I do normally tbh. It takes a while to set up but it’s very satisfying just being able to take over a fortress with little to no resistance.

Tallion: *Decapitates Ghura* Some Random Guy: “I’ll eat your entrails!”

That was cool asf, how the dudes head just went off the edge

at that point just do a diplomatic takeover, you've already gained all favor of every key power

I like the one where the overlord kills his bodyguard who he thought was a spy but he wasnt so he just kills one of his own men

imagine giving that massive speech then watching all your walls detonate

i had to learn this the hard way...

another fun this to do in this game was always "recruiting" every single commander and leaving the fort empty.

Man, seeing you cut up the captives before going into the castle itself makes me wish you could just order your men do it, imagine hitting a button or something to give a command and all the soldiers and captains of yours start slaughtering the survivors. such a simple thing but if you were really going for that cold-blooded type of character, it's such an oversight.

An entire army of traitors, and the overload didn't even figure one of them out

From gold crown to silver in the time it took to walk outside... Master thief Bright Lord...

I do this every time I take a fort I thought it’s what I was supposed to do lmao

considering how this game works I'd imagine all the orcs started to betray you since they all thought they deserved to be overlord after all the betrayals.

Overlord: my brothers will avenge me! Talion: your brothers serve me, as do you!

This is just what i did every time, take no chances on the hardest, always come out on top

Saruman: An excellent plan my lord! They never saw my betrayal coming! Gandalf: Wait I thought you allied with Sauron! Saruman: The Bright Lord made me a better offer.

They should have made it so under these circumstances as the warlord was doing their speech one of the spy bodyguard's came up behind them and pushed them off the ledge.

First time seeing this game, and oh boy THIS IS FRICKIN AWESOME. What is this amazing storytelling and these dialogues. And the AI is legues ahead of any game I've seen. Holy Sh*t, this game is truly something else.

You just described how I like to take fortresses in this game with just the title

Jeez, before the Overlord fight you utterly slaughter those poor orcs

You know, I legit just did this for almost all the fortresses. Just made sense. If I can control the people on the inside, then there's nothing they can do to stop me. It's a flawless plan.

I did the same thing but also with a full army lol it was a massacre

I always loved the chanting crowd of our army when we walk through it at the beginning.

'the Tyrant' probably the most fitting title for a Overlord I've seen in this game.
