What Happened to the 12 Players Drafted Before Tyler Herro

Спорт

Tyler Herro was a highly regarded high school player but faced controversy and decommitted from his college choice. In college, he had a decent freshman year but faced criticisms for his consistency and playmaking abilities. During the NBA draft, he fell to the 13th pick.
The players drafted before him, including top prospects like Zion Williamson, Ja Morant, and RJ Barrett, have had mixed careers with injuries and off-court issues impacting some. Some players, like De'Andre Hunter, have faced injuries, and others like Coby White have shown potential but not yet delivered consistently. And some were complete busts. Tyler Herro has emerged as a key player for the Miami Heat, proving his worth.

4 play offs, 2 finals, 1 6th man in the span of 4 years is way more than what other NBA players could achieve in that span of time or even in their entire career. Uh yeah, he's not even 25 yo.

@@TravellinDrunk Herro got injured during the first game of the playoffs last year. Didn't play at all after that. He's the 3rd (at times 4th) best player on his team. Couldn't even get traded for Dame lmao... less value than 34 year old Jrue Holiday...

@@jhank0cean I know. But he said "NEVER PLAYED" in the finals. As in not one game? Even in 2020? LOL. And who said he was even in the market for trading? All the gossips and tabloids you read? Pat Riley said it himself, they never marketed him. So if you are the Heat's owner. And know about all this trade talks. You better fire Pat Riley for saying he never put Tyler on the market.

Through The Wire had a good discussion on *RJ Barrett vs Tyler Herro* Clearly the winner is RJ due to physical attributes but if Herro can become the Heats PG and try to take some advantage of his height he can lay claim to that spot. Right now Herro is a new era JJ Reddick.

You don’t watch Tyler player Tyler is way ahead of RJ . Tyler had a jumpshot while RJ is broken . And Tyler can drive and do it all . What’s something offensively RJ is better than Tyler at

  • @jhank0cean

@@giftedmusic1577 Ahead in what ways? Just a jumpshot? RJ has a low post game and ability to create shots around the rim that Tyler doesn't have. Results in a True Shooting % that is basically the same. Like I said... if Herro can become more of a PG and fill that role for the Heat as a creator & distributor then he would be clearly ahead of RJ. Right now though Herro is just a shooter off curl screen action filling a 2020's version of JJ Reddick.

@@jhank0cean I actually watch the game bro and I’m telling you that’s not the case. On many nights he’s the one running the offense. He’s not just running off screens He’s Miami’s best shot creator , he has the three point game , the mid range game ( which a lot of players no longer have ), and he can finish around the rim . As of now Tyler has had a way better career I personally watched the Knicks last year as I saw jalen Brunson carry the Knicks on his back While RJ and Randle stunk it up against who ? My same Heat The only thing is Randle was playing so bad that RJ got to fly under the radar But in actuality he was terrible Rj is way to inconsistent. He can have a great game and stink up the joint the next Lastly this season Herro 24 5 4 Barret 18 4 2 The numbers even say it

Hero wouldn't be this great if it weren't for Miami's player development. Just look at Gabe, Nun, Whiteside, Strus and other more that got to other teams they were never the same when they are in different teams. Miami got in the Finals in 2022 without Hero against Boston and in 2023 he got injured as well.

I disagree personally, the players you named were all undrafted guys, and sure Herro being in Miami has helped a ton in his development but Herro was always good even before coming into the NBA he was such a good pure scorer and he always played with a swagger and confidence that makes me believe that whether he was drafted in Miami or not he would still be an all-star

@@noelbate505 Some players are great when they are in a team that has a great culture and player development with great coach. Warriors, Miami, Spurs are the teams that has a winning culture and great player development. There is a lot of great players before coming to NBA but once drafted they become a bum. That is because some teams don't know how to use them and develop their young players.
