What Happened to Terrence Howard?

Ойын-сауық

In the early part of the 2000s, Terrence Howard was on the cusp of major stardom. He’d been around since the mid-nineties, stealing scenes in movies like Dead Presidents, Mr. Holland’s Opus and The Best Man (which spawned a legit franchise). But, it was his role in Paul Haggis’ Oscar-winner Crash that led to many saying he would be the next great actor of his generation. His role in the Sundance break-out Hustle & Flow was a sensation that nabbed him a (well-deserved) Oscar nomination, and he followed it up with excellent character work in Four Brothers, The Brave One, Get Rich or Die Tryin’, and more. But, his role as James Rhodes in Iron Man promised big things to come. At the time, no one knew the film would kick off the MCU, and he was well-positioned, with his character slated to become War Machine in the sequel.
Yet, when Iron Man 2 came out in 2010, he was replaced by Don Cheadle. What happened? The accounts differ, but the consensus is that Howard was asked to take a significant pay cut to continue in the role, and he refused. Since then, Howard has maintained that losing the part harmed his career in a significant way. That said, he went on to arguably his greatest success as an actor in 2015 when he signed on to play the lead in Empire, a TV show that became a cult sensation and made him a household name. But, gossip and Howard’s own bizarre antics seemed to follow him around. Most recently, he was back in the limelight thanks to his continuing role in The Best Man franchise, but following the release of the limited series, The Best Man: The Final Chapters, he announced that he was officially retiring as an actor.
So what happened to Terrence Howard? How does one of the most promising actors of his generation end up virtually retired at only 54? In this episode of What Happened to this Celebrity, which is written (with Mathew Plale), narrated and produced by Taylor James Johnson, and edited by Kier Gomes, we take a look at Howard’s life and legacy.
Do you think Terrence Howard is due a comeback and perhaps an apology from Marvel? Let us know in the comments!

Yeah I used to think he got greedy and just wanted to be paid as much is Robert Downey Jr. It’s one side of the story, BUT if it’s true that they only offered him 40,000, then they really screwed him over…. it’s hard for me to believe the offer is that low though, I’ve always heard that he thought he should be paid as much as Robert even though Robert leapfrogged him in star power, and actor value after the first one….. like I said, it’s hard for me to buy the side of the story that he was only offered 40,000…..400,000 would be a huge pay cut, but it would be within the realm of possibility….. either way he had a fine career and is still doing stuff

Terrence Howard has been cast as the angry black man in the Iron Man debacle, and I do not believe this is fair. He might have anger issues, but so do Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Shia LaBeouf, etc. But I do not believe anyone still talks about their outburst and problematic behaviour as they do about Terrence.

The sole reason why Terrence Howard was dropped from Iron Man 2 was because Marvel agreed to give Robert Downey Jr a pay rise for the sequel but took the money away from Terrence Howard. Terrence Howard and Robert Downey Jr were paid $4.5 and $2 million for the first Iron Man (oddly making Terrence Howard the highest paid actor for Iron Man despite being a supporting actor) and Robert Downey Jr wanted more than the $3 million he was due to receive for Iron Man 2. So the studio told Terrence Howard "We know we contracted you for $8 Million for the Iron Man 2 but now we want to pay you just $1 million because we believe the sequel will be successful with or without you." They effectively took 7 million from Terrence Howard and gave it to Robert Downey Jr whom was paid $10 million for Iron Man 2. Terrence Howard didn't like the fact that he was being unfairly cheated out of the money that he was promised and contracted for, so he refused the pay cut and was paid off to leave the film.

Yeah RDJ was foul for what he did to Terrence Howard. However, there may be karma here because even though RDJ got all that Marvel money and accolades, his illustrious career has been diminished. RDJ is trapped in his Tony Stark/Ironman persona. Since Endgame we haven’t seen RDJ in anything consequential. Terrence might have missed out on all that money but he has the flexibility to play any character he wants. I can’t say the same for RDJ or Don Cheadle for that matter. Marvel studios actually missed a good opportunity because we have yet to see the superstar potential that resides in Terrance Howard. When you look at the roles that he has played in different movies you can see that he can easily surpass the level of acting that his character requires. If given the right role to play in the next Marvel movie, we would see his genius rise to the top. It's not good to mock people in order to issue false click bait. His time will come and you will surely see his true talent emerge!

Anyone who entertains Terryology as legitimate science is clearly uneducated, and clearly has no background in math, physics, biology, or chemistry. The dude tried to prove 1 x 1 = 2 and keeps promising he can prove gravity as a force doesn't exist. The only reason that nut job has been given a platform to spout his nonsense is because of his acting fame.

truthfully I think Terrance is on to something with 1 x 1 equals 2, might be on to something, because on paper 1 x 1 is 1(BUT) like he said if you turn your math 3D instead of 2D, you hold just 1 pen and say times this pen by itself you get 1 pen, (BUT) if you hold up 2 pens exactly the same referencing (1 x 1) how does a pen times another pen equal only 1 pen? (Take the math 3D) There is now 2 pens referencing 1 x 1 , 2 sources of matter (ONE X ONE) Think about it with anything in the 3D space (Pants X Pants) not (Pants X Itself) Pants X Pants is still 1 x 1 ( One Pair of Pants X One Pair of Pants ) but how does 2 equally existing items only equal 1? They are bot pants they both exist but 2D math 1 x 1 on paper is in context to 1 times itself. Not saying 1 x 1 is wrong, its right in math for (ONE X ITSELF) on (PAPER) because if you wrote (1 x ... ) it wouldn't makes sense because in 2D math (1 x nothing(0)) equals Zero. So the other ONE only exist in 2D on paper because we use it as a reference to the original 1 on paper., which is ONE TIMES ITSELF.. The second one in 2D math is made up. BUT in real life 3Dimentional objects say (2 Diamond Earing's) which is, in reality (Matter X Matter) 2 existing objects exist for real in front of your eyes, so how does (1 x 1) equal ONE? How about lets do this,, (ME X YOU) Logically does one of us seez to exist because 1 x 1 is 1 so (ME x YOU) = WHO? ME or YOU? Which one of us doesn't exist now because of logical math? There is still 2 of us that exist! People shouldn't knock this man I think he's on to something.. But like all of our great thinkers, ( Einstein, Nuton, D Vinci, Nicola Tesla) When they were alive everyone thought they were crazy and criticized them and they all cracked codes in the the levels of the laws of physics we use today! When you have 1 x 1 in 3D equaling 1 just doesn't make sense 2 real existing object you see with your own 2 eyes cannot only equal 1 it's impossible.

💯….i know most won’t understand!, But the math on todays world understanding a mind that didn’t accept any and everything that was given from the beginning won’t be the same. I.E. the world *x* (times) thought out theory=an unbalanced equation. The world only can understand with structure, there’s no outside the box or thinking about what’s being said. Only predetermined thoughts from a program that isn’t noticed at the time!!

Paramount and RDJ did him dirty. Black men has no nonblack allies and friends in the industry or any professional sphere whatsoever: heck they even had a hard time getting such assets amid their fellow-- and if they actually have, then they simply are lucky enough to get surrounded by a few outliers. Look at what happened to DCEU Cyborg actor Ray Fisher. To the actor, comedian and filmmaker Orlando Jones following American Gods. Lastly, to Jonathan Majors... *all blackballed* by the industry and the Powers-that-Be for staying on their ground. Howard was lucky enough to get some big roles even after that: the Paramouunt CEO who blackballed him get himself blackballed at his turn, but let's be honest Howard's career never peaked back at the fullest prime of his potential, ever since. There still has a stain on his resume and like we, black people says *"no black man leave the industry without a bad asterisk/a stain on their name."* Terrence Howard learned about it the hard way. Ninja hepled him to rebuild his career and was looking after him in jail and all of these detox centers, even after a large number of his so-called "friends" , family and even the industry turned their back on him. He was hot lava to the business, a red flag. Never help a white man, black gentlemen.
