Nurse opinion: having good muscle strength before an injury means that the muscle atrophy that occurs after an injury is less likely to permanently immobilize someone. An accident could have happened at anytime, but her having a trainer before hand put her in the best shape to have an accident.

I appreciate all the love Rhett has given to the UK and our NHS in both this and the previous episodes, thanks Rhett! Yeah, roundabouts are awesome, and the roads in the Scottish highlands are so narrow because they're literally centuries old tracks that have been paved over. Some of those roads will be older than the USA haha.

First of all, oh no Mama Di! Second, what a turn!! OH MY GOODNESS!!

i feel heartbroken for rhett. to have every family member able and present to go on a trip like this was realistically a once in a life time thing and the whole trip was so fraught with meaning. to have that final plot twist reveal that that very meaning turned out to be empty just completely captured the concept of tragedy and comedy being two sides of the same coin. rhett, u told the story extremely well, the way u set it up was a complete masterpiece that brought us all on a whole rollercoaster of emotion. and after all that i would just like to say this: you finding so much meaning of being a family together at an ancestral site (albeit a mistaken one) is proof of ur great love for ur whole family, them sharing in ur joy is proof of their great love for you. u taking ur father to play golf (a sport that u have bonded over tgther in ur life) at its birthplace was a tribute to the great love u have for each each other as well. so it is also for jessie taking care of your mum to let u enjoy that, and you loving her for that. so it is also for ur mum to even be open to the training and the trip in the first place and u going to great lengths to take care of her then and now! I think we all hope u don't take the stressful and painful events too hard and that u get to eventually see this trip for what it really was, which was the Epic adventure of the north american McLaughlins, a clan that is clearly capable of some clownery (see: the great scottish/irish identity crisis 2019 lol) but more importantly a clan that is filled with great love and loyalty for each other.

Great story! Pretty funny. I'm very sorry for your mom I hope her recovery goes smoothly and fast.

Accidents can happen. Glad it was on the last days of your vacation! The trip overall seems amazing (everything well planned and so lucky with the weather), family vacations with all the members together don't happen very often after childhood. Great and fun memories have been made for sure! The pictures are so beautiful and discovering your family roots is definitely a once in a lifetime experience. Feel sorry for your mom but I think she was glad to have taken this trip with all of you. Lesson learnt, now take her to somewhere relaxing next time!

I am a McLaughlin my roots come from Ireland. A Daniel McLaughlin was the only surviver of a house fire as a child. He was brought over to Scotland by his uncle and raised as his own son. From then on every McLaughlin family had a Daniel usually the oldest son. Being an expert in everything is also a McLaughlin thing. I have lol so much watching this thanks for sharing x

We don't know that they didn't. They didn't tell us because it's none of our business, really. What we know of Rhett and Link, though, is that they are honest men, and I have faith that they did it the right and classy way.

I bet your mom’s recovery will be faster because of her previous training. It was a great thing to do for her regardless of the accident.

One of my favorite things about Rhett And Link is how obsessed they are with centering their microphones. I notice it every video and I love it. Even this vid with two microphones they are off center but perfectly evenly off-centered.

I'm tearing up listening about Rhett's mom. She seems like such a sweet lady, I hope she's recovering well.

There's a thing called "Scot's Irish" which is basically Scottish going to Ireland, then immigrating to the US. My family is Scot's Irish. Vance is a modification of "Fenns" which is the swamps, so my family came from the swamps of Ireland and Scotland. There are two origins of the Vance family, but because of where my dad's family lived, I'm pretty sure ours wasn't the "nobility" one. :p

I used one in 1996 on my high school class trip to Europe. Found it in my box of momentos in the attic. I was the only one of us in the group that didn't lose my money or passport. When I pulled it out of the box from the attic, it was dry rotted.

my daughter lived in Scotland for years. it is lovely there. we found the weather on the East Coast to be grand most of the time. everyone should go there.

Both vacations sounded like really nice trips. I’m more of a relax vacay, so think I’d have liked Link’s trip, plus I always wanted to go to THIGHland 😃

If you go back to that time period the Irish and Scottish were very much intermingled and in fact the kilt originally comes from Ireland (without the tartan) showing this as well. They also fought together often against the English etc. So if you are Scottish or Irish from that time period you are almost definitely partly the other also so either way you still almost certainly have the Scottish connection.

It is so hard to deal with situations. Especially your mom. But you made your family happy.
