What Happened To Barriss Offee After The Clone Wars?

Ойын-сауық

Barriss Offee, Jedi Padawan who was introduced to us in season 2 of the Clone Wars and became a close friend to Ahsoka Tano. Later turning to the Dark Side and disagreeing with the Jedi Barris was sentenced to prison where we never see her again in the Clone Wars Series. But what happened to the young driven Jedi after the fall of the Republic?

The last time we saw Barris was her being put away in prison.
Now there are many moments in Star Wars that hit you deep.
For some, it’s when Luke finds out Darth Vader is his father.
For others it’s Obi-Wan and Anakin’s battle in Revenge of the Sith but for many, one of those moments is when Ahsoka Tano was framed for the bombing of the Jedi Temple and that falls on the shoulders of Barriss Offee.
Barris orchestrated the bombing of the Jedi Temple, enlisted a citizen and her unsuspecting husband to do it and then framed Ahsoka for it all.
This resulted in a long hunt for Ahsoka through Coruscant and had her name dragged through the mud because of it.
Ahsoka was stripped of her Jedi title and banned from the Order and Barriss did all this to someone who considered her a true friend.
Her reasoning was rooted in some sanity, though. She saw the Jedi as the villain of the war, choosing a side and continuing the fight even though innocent people were suffering.
While the Jedi were complicit in certain aspects of the war, the bombing and framing were a bit much.
So while many fans might hate her, a lot of people still want to know what happened to her.
After she admits to her crimes in the court in front of the Jedi and Ahsoka, she is led away from the trial room.
The story goes on into what that aftermath looks like for Ahsoka and the Order but Barriss is never seen again.
There is nothing that explains where she went after the trial. Did Tarkin seek the same death sentence for her that he did for Ahsoka?
Did she become an Inquisitor like many believed she did? Supervising Director Dave Filoni gave an interesting answer to IGN in 2014 that sort of addressed both of those instances.
He said that it wasn’t out of the question that some Jedi would barter their life and turn to the Dark Side.
He then said that “Barriss Offee in some ways was a walk into that on Clone Wars,” insinuating that maybe she is a bit darker than we know. And he said that she wasn’t executed.
Even though Barriss never showed up in Rebels or Jedi: Fallen Order like some thought she would, Filoni teased there may be more of her in the future.
During the “Untold Clone Wars Panel” at Star Wars Celebration in 2015, he and Pablo Hidalgo of the Lucasfilm Story Group, gave a presentation on how The Clone Wars was supposed to end.
And when speaking about Barriss, Filoni shared that originally she was going to blow up her own cell after her conviction, but that didn’t happen. “I didn’t want that fate for Barriss, so I cut that part. I had plans for Barriss.”
It would be interesting if we see Ahsoka dwell on her thoughts about Barriss in the upcoming shows.
She does a lot of this a year after Order 66 and Revenge of the Sith in the Ahsoka novel.
Not just about Barriss, but everything. “Barriss had a point about the Republic and the Jedi. There was something wrong with them, and we were too locked into our traditions to see what it was,” Ahsoka thinks in her book.
We got to see a little bit of this too in the finale season of Clone Wars when she's speaking with Anakin.
While Barriss Offee’s fate is still unknown, she had a lasting impact on the Jedi Order, on Ahsoka, and on Star Wars as a whole.
Her fall to the dark side is notably similar to those of several Imperial Inquisitors, and many viewers believed she’d become one by the Age of the Empire.
When a female Mirialan Imperial Inquisitor was shown in previews as a villain in the then-upcoming Star Wars Rebels season 2, many assumed her to be Barriss.
The Seventh Sister turned out to be an original character, however.
Similarly, the Second Sister, the main antagonist of Jedi: Fallen Order was theorized to be Barriss, but this too was debunked when the video game was released.
Barriss is prime Inquisitor material so a reappearance in the Star Wars franchise would be a perfect opportunity to explain how the old Jedi Order, while flawed, was still preferable to the dark side’s organizations.
Barriss was right to criticize the order, but she became far worse when she bombed the temple.
If she were to return, a conflict between her and Ahsoka would be inevitable.

Not making Bariss the Seventh Sister in Rebels was a huge missed opportunity. It could have shown the symbolic relationship between Bariss and Ahsoka during their first confrontation. Even though they both turned their back on the Jedi Order, both have taken a clear divergent path between opposing sides of the force. Especially showing how differently they've grown in terms of skill, the way they view the state of the galaxy, clashing ideologies of the force, etc. since the last time they met 15+ years ago. It would've been extremely interesting to see them interact while keeping this in mind and finally close the arc between both characters during the final episode on Malachor.

@@Abel010_ Of course he wouldn't. He'd be extremely furious at the very idea of her presence being near him because of what happened when he was still Anakin. So if Palpatine were to directly step in and order Vader to specifically let her live and be trained as an inquisitor then it'd make sense. Like the time Vader and the Grand Inquisitor first met in the comics. It would piss off Vader even more and it's something the Emperor would totally do to test Vader. Besides, it would tie in very nicely with what Dave Filoni said about Bariss a while back and how he had something planned for her character.

I really do not think Bariss became the seventh sister inquisitor because; The tatoo's on the dark side mirialins face are a bit off from Bariss Offee's face tatoo's from the clone wars, 2nd Vader trained the inquisitorius in one of the canon comics and wouldn't Darth Vader sense the 7th inquisitor being Bariss Offee who framed his lost padawan which partially made him fall to the dark side and kill Padme.

I mean the fact that the two had different facial markings, should have been an obvious sign they were different people not to mention that they have different voice actors, that Ahsoka shows no sign of recognition in their first encounter, the only similarity was they were both Miralan women, and ultimately it would have been a dumb retcon for Tales to make anyway.
