The Glitched Attraction's fourth escape room is themed after Five Nights at Freddy's 5: Sister Location. You must rebuild Circus Baby as Ballora, Funtime Foxy, and Funtime Freddy / Bon Bon hunt you down. Today we're breaking all of that down though. We're heading out of bounds, taking Ballora apart, and breaking into each of the animatronics rooms!

    The small scooper mechanism is Baby’s scooper, the small fan at the front matched with the one on her belly button. Gave it away instantly since that is used in Fnaf lore

    I don’t see many people mentioning this but the part where Ballora crawls and her legs are backwards are actually true to character, Scott stated how she’s meant to walk about like a spider

    The Ballora's crawling animation is actually CANON! Scott himself some years ago said she would crawl to catch the player, I'm very surprised with this and the other amount of details the devs gave to the game :)!

    The newspaper is a secret for the Lorekeeper achievement, you can get it by pressing a hidden red button in the level of funtimes that is randomly spawned in a few set spots. Also there is dev comments on the back of newspapers hidden in the game.

    @@ahiptothehop4077 yeah, there's 1 after escaping the Nightmares and and 1 after the Toys, there's 2 clipboards in the accident and warehouse levels that builds up the lorekeeper achievement

    for freddy's selective walk animation: humans are very good at spotting movement, and freddy's gameplay is about having a hard time telling whether he moved, so animating the movement would substantially reduce the challenge.

    that and I doubt anyone's really gonna be wasting time looking at him for him to move instead of dealing with the others, so there's no real need for a walking animation to the window, or at least I don't see a need for one

    I wonder if Baby's claw, which is the small arm beneath the map, was meant to be shown at some point - either through some sort of jumpscare for her or when everyone else goes limp during the end of the level. Interesting. That, along with Funtime Foxy in the menu, leads me to believe some things might not have been totally finished in that level. Funtime Freddy moves quickly with teleports rather than walking because he only does so when you're not looking, either when the room is dark or you're physically turned away. He walks at other times, yes, but they don't need to animate it for something you're specifically not supposed to see. I find it interesting that his torso slightly turns to look at you, it's funny to see the limits immediately reached when you're that close. It highlights his rather unsettling design when you go into the room and he just stares you down, though. Shame we didn't see his animation where he, uh, gets a bit tired of Bon-Bon. Also he has a lot of poses in the room we don't get to see and it'd've been nice to get a closer look at them. That newspaper is accessible. I believe the buttons are in the first, second and fourth levels (Toys, Funtimes and whatever the first was called), as well as the hideout in the fifth (Lost Media). They're hidden around the room, and I think they change positions as well.

    I don't think things in the level were unfinished, more so just scrapped. Like the claw hand being a scrapped idea unremoved or funtime foxy meant to appear in the title screen but that was scrapped for some reason and they weren't removed just hid behind, it gives an unfinished look seeing them stored in the game but unused but sometimes scrapped ideas aren't removed from games

    the reason why funtime freddy is teleporting is probably because his mini game in fnaf sl, the lights flicker and f. freddy teleports so its kinda like moving, which is exactly what happens in the game. so its pretty much a call back to fnaf sl.

    3:28 I think that's ment to be the mini claw thing inside baby that kills Elizabeth, I think the devs just placed it out of bounds for whatever reason (The fan is also a part of baby but it's less important lol)

    Now knowing what it is, I'm assuming it's similar to Springtrap's bowtie. The fan-created model they used for Baby probably came with this claw within it, so they moved the model of the claw under the map instead of just disabling it in the game engine since they didn't plan on using it.

    @@HorrorScoped perhaps it could've been a scrapped death sequence where if you fail a task Circus Baby would grab you with her claw (that is stored out of bounds) so when the jumpscare is triggered then the scooper would be teleported where Circus Baby would be and the fan would move out of the way for the claw allowing it to grab you.

    10:50 Im not sure why they are called "Emergency Joe's" here, but that design is a slightly modified RASC from Pizzeria Simulator. In that game it's supposed to be a fake child giving off heat and making noises, the name stands for "Remote Access Simulated C", "C" likely being child. It's the thing creating all the audio lures in the vents, and it even gives off a heat signature the animatronics think is a child

    Funny thing, you can actually go to f. Freddy’s and f. Foxy’s rooms without noclip. Just wait for one of them to leave. Make a loop around baby and run to appropriate door, once an animatronic behind you is close enough to door, it will open and you can enter

    I always assume that any weird leftover assets are just, like, things that would break the game if they're removed. I think I remember some old programmer joke about how there's a png of a hotdog in some game that can't be deleted without breaking everything.

    As a developer myself I can't stop but wonder the true purpose of having the assets persistent in the level. It could be for optimization, spawning/despawning objects is more expensive than simply teleporting an existing asset. This might eliminate lag spikes but also comes with a cost of increased ram usage as unused objects are not deleted. It could be an engine limitation, maybe the game engine does not allow for dynamically spawning new objects and you have to work with what you have in the level. But this possibility is unlikely because the "Joes" do not initially exist in the level and are dynamically spawned in. Perhaps it's about having a reference to a specific object persistent? (Like the taser gun always keeping a reference to the same electricity particle, not possible if a new particle were to spawn each time its fired) Or it coud just be a sole developer preference, maybe they like it more that way.

    I believeThe Game is made in Unity, so definitely not a limitation of the engine, more than likely just for optimization, since having 3 extra objects loaded isn't going to increase Memory Usage significantly, The technique is called Object Pooling, where you know an object is going to be needed to appear and disappear a lot, so you avoid the overheads of creating and destroying it by just keeping it there. Normally the objects would be disabled when they aren't in use to save memory, but Im guessing since those are fairly simple visual effects they decided it wasn't worth the effort

    @@AaronBacon_ Make sense for the particle effects but I still wonder - if optimization was that big of a concern - why didn't they deactivate physics on pick-upable objects and resorted to using 5 planes as a bucket to keep them from falling out-of-bounds instead. I'm not too familiar with Unity's ways of handling physics. I'm guessing unless there is a system built-in to auto-disable/suspend physics calculations on stationary rigid-bodies, it would actually be better to just spawn them in when needed or to disable them completely. I'm no optimization expert though, mobile development isn't my thing. Surely there are tons of methods I'm unaware of to squeze a couple more frames out of a pocket device. Hats off to all the mobile devs that do proper optimization. EDIT: Just realised this isn't actually a mobile title and the minimum system requirements are relatively high. Which makes me even more confused now, is spawning objects in Unity that expensive? I'm sure Ryzen 5 can handle spawning a few objects without issue, what makes this technique necessary?

    @@AaronBacon_ I think you got it right when you mentioned the objects appearing and disappearing multiple times. All of the assets being stored are ones with some kind of player dependant use, so it makes sense to keep them loaded when you can't predict how many times a player is going to cause one of those assets to be needed.

    @@spynorbays Unity does optimize physics on objects, though I dont think the body parts actually have physics at all, i think them moving in the elevator is a pre-programmed animation. It does look like they're in a pile in the box, but in game I'm pretty sure they're statically placed on the ground when dropped, no physics involved. As for optimization, Unity can easilly handle loading huge open worlds, so given the game is mostly 1 room at a time, the actual objects spawning is unlikely to contribute to memory usage in any meaningful way. Realistically, having the objects be dreated and destroyed would probably make no difference to performance at this scale. It's just a case of best practise, as well as maybe logistically making things a little easier since the electro gate script doesnt have to find and set up the electricity effect and then clean it up every time its used

    @@AaronBacon_ So technically, it was developer preference. It's always nice to have an optimized workflow, even if it isn't really necessary. I would still pick the regular spawn-when-needed method though, I like having clean levels.

    I believe the Joes stem from Pizzeria Simulator. On the Insanity path you can see a blueprint of the audio lure used in the Office Phase, and it looks just like these Joes. Perhaps J O E is an acronym, the way Lefty was.

    The little robots, the Joe's, are the "emergency Joe's" mentioned in the previous level with Springtrap. I'm pretty sure the fact that they're called Joes is just because that's their name.

    I get the Freddy thing. Having him teleport between locations is a Sister Location visual reference, but walking to return is better visual feedback for the player

    I think one of the problems I have is I tend to get hyper-fixated on something I find and I forget to go back and experiment with basic gameplay mechanics. At one point it was on my to do list but then there were so many layers to messing with Ballora I honestly forgot.

    The robots are called “emergency joes” or just “joes” Those robots deal with a lot of the bad things that happen around the complex, think fire, death, clean up and other things. Those are also the robots that are sent to the generator that’s on fire in room 3

    The "JOES" are actually based off of the blueprints for the Audio Lure that we use in Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator but this FNaF character is one of the most unknown characters in the franchise. It's real name is R.A.S.C (Remote Activated Simulated C). The audio lure we use is actually sending the robot to that location to make the audio for us, we just never see it because it doesn't actually exist in game outside the blueprints

    10:30 I'm pretty sure that light is the 3 red lights on the desk control [forgot what is supposedly called] but if you get closer to the desk module in the room where cb is you'll see 3 red lights going up and down, they're all right next to each other. this was hard to explain so I'm very sorry if you don't understand well.

    probably the reason why funtime foxy was left out is because they don’t really move often at all and are usually in stage mode so there really wasn’t a spot to put them in the scene

    I think the weird claw thing talked about at the beginning of the video could be something related to baby. I’m no expert, but the little fan piece reminded me of baby’s stomach, and I know, in the original games, baby has a claw that comes out of her stomach for trapping children. So maybe there were plans for a baby jump scare that the devs scrapped?

    3:28 This is Circus Baby's scooper, hidden inside her chest. It is extremely obvious to me since it is tiny and has a fan at the front, which is the fan circus baby has on her torso.

    The Tiny arm that you originally thought was the scooper is the arm inside circus baby's chest, you can tell because of the fan. Likely originally one of the parts necessary.

    The room before where the elevator crashes to is actually so smart, all that's happening is the elevator shaking. It's like when you have something move really fast but it's actually the background coming to you, and you're not moving at all.

    The mini scooper is Circus Baby's scooper.The tiny flower shown on it matches the same one on her stomach and if you look even closer then you will remember that that the scooper in Sister Location is bigger and also Baby's scooper is small and not as big as the one in the scooping room because it's made to give small treats.😊😊😊

    At 3:28 He asks what the claw thing is, it is circus baby's kill claw. I can tell due to the fact that it has A. Circus Baby's stomach propeller in front of it and B. It has a grabby thing at the end, like where it showed Baby's Claw has a grabber.

    i think the reason that funtime foxy is behind the camera is that it was supposed to have different lighting and funtime foxy was going to have a shadow, would make sense in my opinion

    Take a better look at Ballora's crawling animation. Her legs ain't bent backwards, her waist is rotated 180 so her legs are facing backwards which allows her to crawl like that.

    Circus baby has a mechanism where she can count how many children/people are in the party room and when there is only one child with no parents around circus baby’s little fan on her stomach opens and then out pops an ice cream with the claw thingy holding it. Then when the child (Elizabeth Afton) takes the ice cream from the claw the claw snatches the child immediately killing them and stores the child’s body behind the fan so nobody finds out. Did I put too much detail to this? 👇

    Whenever way back in sister location well if you play the 8-Bit mini game and go back all the way to the beginning you’ll see this mechanism grabbing Elizabeth into the chest cavity and so if we look at the design and game we can see a that fan in front of the claw
