Prost gets so downplayed simply because he had to fight Senna. The truth of the matter, Prost, with a little twist of fate, could have been a 7 times champion by 1993. The guy is truly someone on the level of Fangio, Schumacher and Hamilton.

Every great champion has to face the next in line for the throne, Michael had to fight off Kimi and Alonso, Kimi and Alonso had to fight Lewis then Seb, and now Lewis has to fight Max. This dynamic of old vs new is always a pleasure to watch as they have different strengths, and at different points in their careers and what's at stake for them

Guess we will see how well Max can recover.

Rosberg kind of predicted this too in his Brazil track guide. He based it on his own experience. There's just that point when Lewis is already behind and has got nothing to lose as he's already the loser, while Max is the one who's ahead and is pressured to stay ahead as he is the winner now, it's his championship to lose.

I knew sooner or later he would do a couple of mistakes, and that would be enough to potentially cost him the title. Mercedes is just too OP, you need almost everything perfect to beat them. In the end, he will have more wins, poles, podiums, laps in the lead but will lose the title. Thats shows you how luck plays a big part in winning a F1 title. Whoever wins the championship this season, one of them will make history in Abu Dhabi. - Hamilton takes his 8th title and takes the F1 record for the most world titels in history. - Verstappen takes his 1st title, the first Dutchman and the 4th youngest driver to win a worldchampionship . Even Silverstone and Monza were nowhere close to this level of pure hatred from either side. I'm not saying Max is better than someone like Rosberg or Vettel, but, no one has ever kept up this amount of consistency. Before Bahrain, if someone told me that one of the two title challengers would be 1st or 2nd in every race bar 4, everyone would have said "Lewis the 7 time drivers champion, not Max, the talented youngster with less than 10 wins". Whatever happens in Abu Dhabi, I'm sure every rational F1 fan is really proud of Verstappen and Lewis for the job they have done this year.

Because in 2005, Schumacher wasn't even fighting for the championship, it was Kimi vs Alonso, if you are to say ala Max and Lewis now, it should be in 2006, but at that time Alonso was already the defending champion. TBH, 2021 is the closest championship battle ever in the new millennium, i mean, they are tied on points with just one race remaining!
