    Something I’ve seen that some companies are starting to do is for example with the new Émonda the headset spacers come off as collars and there’s a brace under the integrated bars. This screws off and gives more slack in the hoses for a headset inspection without a re bleed. Thank you for making this, it’s super important for safety

    I was amazed at the difference in ride quality (less vibrations) when I swapped out my steel ones for full carbon on my first Btwin road bike. The weight difference was hundreds of grams as well. I still consider the Focus aero forks the best upgrade I did especially when I got them at a bargain price.

    Most designs allow spacers to slide past top of the expander plug. The expander's top diameter is the same as the steerer's outer diameter. It is ok to run as man spacer as you want as long as the clamp section of the stem is fully supported by a plug inside and the top of the spacer is ~5mm from the top of the expander plug. I mine is 3mm and I would not go any lower, otherwise I may not get the cap to apply preload. I run a 10mm top spacer and 3mm gap is fine, 5mm would be ok too. But if you run a 5mm top spacer and leave 5mm gap then the space is not even surrounding the steer tube, a no go there.

    I think it’s good for new riders that want a nice bike with decent components and it’ll make them ride it more so sram benefits and sell a lot and the owners will benefit in good health and have fun riding

  • @alannkevin

    @alannkevin

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@GrayFox-xd9ww I think the groupset is going to be a game changer, SRAM did what nobody thought could be possible, we are going to start seeing other companies doing the same. I see it this way... the price gap between mechanical equipped bikes and electronic is HUGE, there is nothing out there yet to fill that gap so I think this groupset will fill that gap pretty good. For example, I was looking to move on to a bike with disc and electric shifting, but I couldn’t find anything under $3000 new. So, I think this groupset will fill that price range between for complete bicycle in a $2500 and $3500 or even $4000 range. What do you think? 🤔

    @@alannkevin yeh I saw on Instagram good bike brands selling them for about $4k. Sram force and red di2 probably going to go up. Saw specialized selling base model tarmac w tiagra for 2500 usd now it was 2k bike. Yes you’re sacrificing weight for price force and red are made from carbon materials. Nice hope you enjoy it. I think this good groupset for 1x gravel bikes. Kinda funny to see sram say 12 speed bc hills I’ve ridden my road bike up long and steep hills and it’s full claris r2000 groupset. Good for new riders to enjoy high and stuff at reasonable price. I’m sure new rider not gona say ima spend 8k on a bike with sram red or force di2

    Riddle me this babe, how come carbon seat posts don't require compression plugs to stop them from getting crushed by clamping forces. It's the same type of construction as the steerer tube. Seat post = no crushing from clamping, steerer tube = getting crushed from clamping.

  • @durianriders

    @durianriders

    3 жыл бұрын

    Not the same torsion load.

  • @five-o8114

    @five-o8114

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@durianriders It has nothing to do with torsion load which works in different plane. There's no difference in terms of crushing forces between seat post and steerer tube. In fact the fact that you clamp the seat post in 1 spot rather than 2 should make it even worse. What's also worth reminding is that in the past compression plugs didn't use to be designed to prevent crushing carbon steerers, only to adjust the headset. Shit doesn't add up, homes.

  • @durianriders

    @durianriders

    3 жыл бұрын

    So why don't carbon posts fail like steerers do?

  • @five-o8114

    @five-o8114

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@durianriders that's precisely the question. One obvious difference would be the thickness and lower diameter which increase strength. Obviously thicker walls = more grams and that is a nono when manufacturers try to offset the increase in weight due to using disc brakes.

    That tree definitely does not have a choice on how it’s been abused and manipulated. Trees have been absolutely taken advantage off and have been suppressed in Australia . Weeds and bushes have had more respect by the corrupt useless government bcse they are cheaper to plant. Government don’t think quality trees need a place in Australia bcse they are just too damn expensive!!!! Weeds and bushes only. Australia should plant more trees than anyone in a urban environment to hide their ugly English architecture that doesn’t represent Australia.
