You are the BEST handpan teacher online!! As a legally blind person, who can't really see your whiteboard all of the time (my fault, not yours!), I really appreciate how you make out the sounds, the taps, or use words to help me to remember the melody. Thank you, Amy, you are really helping me, and I'm 55, living in FL, USA. I've commented before-- I try to watch one of your videos a day, and learn more and more, though I still can't play this darn thing (yet!)

Because I'm very British hahahahaha I was playing handpan with my friend last night, he just asked me this question. how to play different tempo. and I just told him, you can squeezes any tempo in a certain time as you like. Thank you to share this video, now I can tell him how it really work and look like.

Haha, it's true, I am! Tempo is more about how fast or slow the music is, rather than the amount of beats in that time. But yes, with polyrhythm, you can play in different time signatures at different tempos (speeds) in order to make them fit in the same space together

I became a Patreon patron of Amy's today because of "I can play this rhy-thm." For weeks, I had been struggling to master polyrhythm, but my brain and fingers wouldn't cooperate. Then, with this video it all fell into place. The experience was almost magically transcendental. Please keep providing word phrases to help musical newbies, like me, Amy. As for everyone else out there, you can pay Amy back for all her videos that you've been watching for as little as $1.50 a month.

Just found this. Fascinating. It's the first time I've come across neurodivergent music notation and it works perfectly well in this context. As a 'classicaly trained' musician I can imagine how to transcribe the pitches and rhythms, but as a percussionist I'm trying to imagine how you'd notate the different strokes (slap, ring etc.) in either format? Hmm. Cheers.

With handpan especially, there's a whole world of written notation yet to be discovered and tried. Many people are doing it in many different ways and as someone who struggles with dots and lines (and numbers on a page for that matter) I love exploring them!! Super excited to see what direction notation for handpan goes in
