The Island of Forts is a park in Kronstadt, mainly for children, dedicated to the Russian Navy. On an area of more than 10 hectares there is an Alley of Heroes, a rope park, a playground, an apple orchard with a pond, cozy paths, benches, gazebos, swings and several other objects and a food court overlooking the Gulf of Finland. And the real fort "Peter I", although already serving with a different, non-defensive, functionality. And almost all of it is free.
All this is located in Kronstadt, on the shore of the Gulf of Finland, which you can look at through stationary large binoculars or just meditate.
The park "Island of Forts" is developing, plans include the opening of museums at forts Kronshlot, Peter I and Emperor Alexander I. There will also be hotels and even the first theater completely surrounded by water. At the same time, it will be possible to get to the island by a cable car with a length of 1,250 meters.
By the end of 2025, an aquarium, hotels, an equipped harbor for 500 yachts, and a sports complex will appear. All this will breathe new life into a city with a heroic history.
