Today's Ramakrishna mission is nothing like what Swimiji would have agreed to. They have destroyed and keep on destroying Sawimiji's dream. @@ascnir the basic reason behind that is, RKM is solely based on the vedas and upannishads. The word 'Hindu' in itself is a name given by the foriegn in the early 1500s, which denoted whole india. Even in present age, Europe considers every indian as hindu. Hindu has never been a religion. our religion is Sanatan Dharma.

The best part about Swamiji's answers is that they are always open-ended for us to interpret, giving us a few different options to pick from, not lines drawn in rock. They are intellectually mature answers for intellectually mature people. Very broad and open-ended solutions. How beautiful is that!! His answers are not merely answers, they are suggestions that set our own thought process in action and we reach our own answers. Pranams to my beloved Swamiji!!

This should be the correct answer- Why don't you anwer directly saying- " I don't follow Islam , and after carefully inspecting the scriptures , I follow the principles and Dharma ( Sanatan Dharma) which according to my intellect is truth. Indeed, as a Christian, finding so much love & generosity amongst people's of other faith as well, I have always thought about Jesus' assertion, _No-one comes to the Father except through me_ , quite exactly the way Swamiji explains it here! What strikes me is his peaceful disposition, it flows out to us, even through the screen. He truly seems to dwell in divine bliss, what Jesus promised to all true seekers, _I give you peace, my peace I give you_ .

Now go to the next verse which is sura maida 33, it's unique verse not any copy verse, in 33 allah ordered to kill who go against allah and prophet and creat fitna in the land. Here we must remind in Islamic point of view criticise muhamad is going against allah, that's why many poets had to lost their lives like asma binte Marwan, kaab bin asraf, Abu afak, or nadir bin harith etc who used to criticize prophet by their writings ,apart from that shirk is also a fitna. Fortunate to listen this discussion by Swami Sarvapriyananda today which clarifies some of my points of discomfort about Sri Ramakrishna's practicing Islam. Amidst so many controversies involving the Muslim communities around the globe, my misconceptions about the Islam as a religion was clouded. My numerous ardent salutations to this Swami-ji. !

Swami Vivekananda was very vocal and passionate about his Hindu heritage. After his returnfrom America, he addressed "When a man has begun to be ashamed of his ancestors, the end has come. Here am I, one of the least of the Hindu race, yet proud of my race, proud of my ancestors. I am proud to call myself a Hindu. I found Hinduism to be the most perfectly satisfying religion in the world." "The RK Mission apparently did not anticipate the outcry against their non-Hindu declaration. They had, in fact, already been quietly granted minority status in 1969 by the State of Bihar. Perhaps the tactic seemed a logical extension of their earlier success. Nevertheless, dissension both within and without the Mission was volatile and vociferous when the issue attracted international attention in 1985." [Hinduism Today, March, 1986.] "After nearly 15 years, the curious case of the Ramakrishna Mission's seeking minority religious status under the Constitution of India has finally come to a close. On July 2nd, 1995, the Supreme Court of India declared that neither Sri Ramakrishna nor Swami Vivekananda founded any independent, non-Hindu religion. " [Hinduism Today, Sep, 1995] The argument of RK Mission was that, "Swami Vivekananda had abandoned Hinduism "to become a preacher of a religion basically different from Hinduism." Representatives of RK Mission spent time in establishing the falsity that that Swami Vivekananda renounced and even denounced his Hindu heritage which is a criminal distortion of historical fact and neither the Hindu or the History will forget this attempt for menial material gain.

This step was taken to get rid of persecution of govt. As per law if a institution is 'Hindu' then there is too much govt intervention and control. So they are unable to function as per their philosophy and vision. That's why they wanted to get a minority status, stating that RKM philosophy is somewhat distinct from orthodox Hindu philosophies.

The concept of avatara is very deep. First, an avatara does no karma I.e. does not accrue karma to itself. In a way, an avatara is a completely natural phenomenon, which is why it is an expression of Hari in his purest form. And he is Krishna.

Christ is an imaginary character and there never was an historical Jesus Christ in the first place. Prophet is an Abrahamic religious concept that has nothing to do with Sanatana dharma. Guru is one who removes darkness of ignorance and take you to the light of knowledge. Mystic is modern day rubbish. Let’s not mix up Western/ Arabic religions of EXCLUSIVISM and Sanatana dharma. Our dharma is about finding the true divine nature in every one of us. This an enquiry based system to find the truth without the straitjacket of fixed, set in the stone ( literally 😳) dogmas of Abrahamic religions. Either stay with BELIEF system that are Abrahamic religions or discard them TOTALLY and seek out the truth about your own divinity with the help of Sanatana Dharma.

Unfortunately *Quran* which is considered as holy book say just opposite. *Surah 2* Verse 191: And kill them [in battle] wherever you overtake them and expel them from wherever they have expelled you, and fitnah1 is worse than killing. And do not fight them at al-Masjid al-Ḥarām until they fight you there. But if they fight you, then kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers. *Surah 3* Verse 151: We will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve for what they have associated with Allah of which He had not sent down [any] authority.1 And their refuge will be the Fire, and wretched is the residence of the wrongdoers. *Surah 4* Verse 56: Indeed, those who disbelieve in Our verses - We will drive them into a fire. Every time their skins are roasted through, We will replace them with other skins so they may taste the punishment. Indeed, Allah is ever Exalted in Might and Wise. There are many more...

And the underlying spirt behind all existence is what we call God. If you do good you achieve good and vice versa, that's the natural law of action & reaction. You should be grateful to all existence. Because of it you exist. If you can't be grateful to the existence from which you get everything to sustain, you are not grateful to God either. God doesn't need your greetings. God is above all those silly human attributes.

Muslims behave in a manner Christian used to behave and Christian behave in a manner Judaism used to behave. It's abrahamic interpretation of reality which creates such kind of people. To get higher paradise by merely believe in expression but in eastern philosophy you get higher state i.e moksha by experiential knowledge not merely by reading scripture.

I wish we do not compare religions or set them against each other. The Indic dharmas are different and leave it at that instead of seeking anvaya or samanvaya between them and other faith traditions. Swami must understand the apocalyptic context of Jesus's statement. Why use Indic template to interpret Christian theology?. 🤦🤦🤦. Both theologies are 180 apart. One starts with Adama and Eve story, which is logically and scientifically stupid. And Hinduism starts with sristi, which is not creation but manifestation. Which is logical, rational and scientific too.

I don't get how the first interpretation makes any sense. Adam is the father of mankind according to them, so devotees won't accept the argument that Mohamed is the last prophet of just one lineage out of many, everybody springs from Adam, there can only be one lineage. Right?

I think what he meant to say is that maybe we all came from Adam but we don't all accept Adam to be a prophet. Muslims accept Adam to be the first prophet so in that sense Hazrat Mohammed was the last prophet in that lineage. So people who accept Adam or Abraham to be prophets had their last prophet in Hazrat Mohammed. But that is not the same for others. Say for a Buddhist who doesn't follow Abraham or Adam as prophets can have a prophet in Buddha.

Blessed day to everyone, To the muslim sister Prophet Muhammed (s) says : Do not see who is speaking, rather see what he is speaking. To benefit from the teaching of Shri Ramakrishna/ Swami Vivekananda you do not have too accept them as Prophets of God. As long as what they teach is in sync with the principles and teachings of Islam then you must accept it and use it as a means to get closer to God. And if otherwise then reject the teaching but not the teacher.
