if u get a wireless adapter u can do that, like the otto cast play 2 video pro wireless it gives u KZread and CarPlay and android auto and it lets you screen share your phone to your thing its really nice if u look it up online.

I have a 2016 camaro2LT with the 7 inch screen. I tried connecting my android but it only shows Apple play. Did they not install Android Auto on my vehicle?

I would like to plug my Android (Samsung S4) in via USB and not get the nagging phone screen asking if I want to setup Android Auto. Any idea how on my 2018 Colorado Infotainment system? I tried Android Auto but didn't care for limited apps (could access My Places via Maps in Android Auto), so Uninstaller it... I'll just pass the audio through the system via Bluetooth or Auxcillary In and use my phone screen as usual. Thanks!

With my TV I can do two cool things with my Galaxy S8, I can mirror my screen, this allows me to see exactly what I see on my phone on my TV. Also there's a feature called broadcast (i think) that allows me to play videos or KZread clips on the TV. Is there any way to do either of these things with this?

No they don't allow stuff like that since it would be unsafe when used improperly

It seems that my Info button has been replaced by a Projection button. How do I get my Info button back? I didn't do anything to make this happen. The Projection button just showed up last week.

My 2016 Lacrosse has Projection icon but in settings I only see apple carplay. It was my understanding that Projection meant it will support both android auto and apple car play not just one or the other? Thanks

Yes. It's super simple: Set your phone in front of the screen, preferably in the horizontal position, and you're done. (I'm just making fun of the fact that Android Auto or Apple Carplay are touted as such huge breakthroughs, but I'm able to that and more just by setting my phone in front of my MyLink screen in my '14 Cruze.)

Make sure you go into the settings on your car MyLink system and turn on Android Auto. That is a common solution that people don't realize they need to do

If using Android auto, you do have to use specific usb cable, usually the one that came with your phone. I tried some cheap cables and they wouldn't work. Couldn't get it to connect and would get a message... Google it and buy good quality sub cable...

You follow the same steps except on the new Malibu there is no projection button. What you will see is Android Auto and Apple CarPlay apps. Just plug your phone into the USB port is the first step

Check the settings to ensure that both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are turned on. If you don't have those settings in there then you likely don't have them on your truck (back in 2016 they weren't standard on every model)

So "Projection" allows quicker view of your Phone. With out pick up and looking at your phone(HANDS FREE). KEEPING YOUR EYES ON THE ROAD AT ALL TIMES.

If your not using an iPhone or an android it’s not gonna work. If you’re using one of those phones, you likely need a new wire or an authentic wire.

@@destinylewis737 honestly it wants me to use which ever one I don't plug into. It says use a different slot every single time I plug in. It works good thou. Plug it in before you take the car out of part and use the usb port in the arm rest.

2016 was before android auto was introduced in MyLink. Dealership has to upgrade it. Or download the software online and install it yourself if you have a GM link cable for a laptop.

Mine doesn't do that.

Neither Android Auto or Apple CarPlay can function via a Bluetooth connection. You have to pkug your phone into one of the USB ports. Hope this helps!

My only other suggestion would be to check in the settings to see if Android Auto has been enabled. Some GM vehicles require you turn the feature on first. Hope this works!

I'm having the same problem. I just changed from an iPhone to a Galaxy 9. I think you have to follow the directions and do a factory reset to get android auto to appear on the screen. Right now all I see is Apple car play as an option.

I assumed it projected your phone onto a spot on the windshield.

Well this is b******* but apparently about 6 months ago you could use an app call AA Mirror to screen mirror your phone display to the GM display. But Android auto has since been updated to make this not work I wonder why they would be working so hard to keep this disabled it's not like many people would go through the hassle of figuring this out
