What does the outcome of France's snap election mean? | Inside Story

An inconclusive election in France - but with one certainty, the far-right won't lead the next government.
A leftist bloc came out on top, ahead of President Macron's centrists -- with the far-right National Rally beaten into third place.
So, what does the result mean?
Presenter: Neave Barker
Guests:
Rokhaya Diallo - Writer and an Anti-Racism Activist and researcher at Georgetown University.
Victor Mallet - Senior Editor at the Financial Times and a former Paris Bureau Chief.
Suzanne Lynch - Global Playbook Author and Associate Editor at Politico.

Europe is getting through a Transition. The ancient structures are trembling as the liberal centrism has been unable to solve ordinary people's problems while leaving the super rich unaccountable. Many flee to far ultra right as a way to reject the status quo. That's why the centrism that upholds the regime won't resolve the root causes of cost of living and anxiety. Transition is needed: to clean energies, to social integration, to human-scale productivity, to a sustainable fair economy, to democratic technologies, to a multipolar world.

Just for humor. Germany is the EU money supply, and France is the price index. In a political sense, prices have frozen but the money supply is falling and this seems to be called political disinflation. It is necessary to reduce political rates in Germany so that the price index is consolidated, i.e. France.

It is more complicated than that, he indeed took part in the effort to unite a left coalition but... He does not tolerate people disagreeing with him inside his own formation, France unbowed, going as far as excluding four proeminent candidates in the middle of the first round and pushing two more toward the exit in between rounds including François Ruffin, the man that launched the NFP movement the evening Macron disolved the parliment. The majority of french voters do not like him and he refused to back down despite his candidacy for prime minister being damaging to the NFP and three out of the four major formations within NFP aswell as some members from his own formation refusing his candidacy, advocating for more consensual candidates. The fear of Melanchon being prime minister damaged the NFP during the first round. Had he stepped down and backed another candidate for prime minister, they might have scored even higher.

The French electoral system uses the tried and tested divide and conquer strategy to divide and weaken French voters as and when required by it's ruling/ political class designers to retain their power and control. Hopefully the French people eventually achieve the necessary level of cohesion to break free of this contrived ruling/political class entrapment. The same is true (albeit in less complicated forms) In the UK and the U.S.
