It’s not a message at all, y’all have to stop this mess. The jags need a solid backup in case Trevor goes down with injury that they feel comfortable with running the offense. A lot those games last year they rushed Trevor back because they didn’t trust CJ Beathard at all.

This is mostly an insurance move because once Trevor got hurt this year, the Jags season died basically. But, at the same time, I do think that this can be more than that too because Doug Pederson has some experience with these 2 QB thing. He had Wentz and Foles. Sometimes, having 2 capable quarterbacks is good

End of story. - He is another QB with zero talent who should have been drafted in 7th round (if he`s lucky). - He can hardly throw. - If he throws, he can only throw fewer than 30 yards. - Above 30 yards his completions are 48% on target. - he cant read defense. - he`s not mobile. - he cant even game manage his way out of a wet paper bag. - The only thing he can do is kicking linebackers in the nuts. - His OC wanted to give him an opportunity to sit behind Cam Newton for 1-2 years, until Cam Newton started getting an attitude towards Cam.

If you exclude the rookie season, Trevor almost has double of everything while still throwing less picks. 8129yds, 46TDs vs 5117yds, 24TDs. This has more to do with the fact C.J Beatheard comes up lame every time he gets touched.

Homie I don't know what world 8k is almost 10k... 2000 yards is a lot. Trevor is outright overrated. He is gonna be solid for sure... but he is incredibly overrated... he'll never be a top 5 qb with Mahomes, burrow, Herbert, Love, Allen, CJ Stroud, and probably 1 or 2 of these QBs coming in this class... I can't see Trevor ever being a top 5 QB.

Everybody was injured or about to retire people fail to realize the Patriots have lost so much veterans on that defense and offense it hurt them after they lost tom Brady. Patrick chung had carrer ender, Jason m Courtney retired, Duron Harmon was on his last legs, Devin Mc Courtney, Stephan Gilmore, Malcom Butler, That's not even the front seven who has lost plenty of guys in the last years, Chandler Jones, Donte Hightower, Kyle van noy, The list goes on.

I mean both at 6’6, can be mobile when needed. They haven’t won anything but Lawrence is somewhat more accomplished winning his division. Trevor doesn’t have the superstar name talent around him. His #1 was a slot reciever and an outside receiver who was out of the league essentially 1.5 seasons

I agree with James. 100 %. Mac Jones is the first round pick. I think that if Trevor plays poorly or gets injured it gives Mac Jones an opportunity and Trevor Lawrence looking over his shoulder knowing that he needs to play better.

Trevor Lawrence went 21 tds 14 pick with 4k yards this past season. 10 tds 12 picks 2200 yards. Aint no way Mac taking anybody's job. This acquisition means absolutely nothing and doesn't warrant much discussion

Idc what anyone says: the dudes are: Rodgers Mahomes Burrow Stroud Goff Watson (yes, Watson! Wilson (yes, Wilson!) We will see about Purdy and Hurts. Those are championship-level QBs, and they’re the only QBs I trust to win championships (or at least play in Super Bowls) over the next 5 years. Allen, Jackson, Herbert, Lawrence, Cousins, Dak, and Tua won’t win championships over the next 5 years. Stafford could win another one, but I wouldn’t bet on it. Those are the only QBs i trust on a championship level

I dont think so but Trevor so far has not been very good, he got drafted to be good and so far u don't know what u have yet. I view him and Justin fields in a similar way except the one playoff win. They both show the can be good at times but their consistency has not been there

I would say he's more talented in the right aspects. Trey has superior arm power and athleticism but can't read a defense, had very little accuracy, and no poise. Sam Darnold is tall and has the arm strength but not as athletic and can't read a defense. Purdy is the right mixture of talent in the right places

Mac Jones is more of a practice squad QB than a backup QB. Comparing him to Lawrence is ludicrous. Lawrence is a legit star who is still developing and learning. Mac is a mediocre QB at best and he's already hit his ceiling.

That is such a 2021 take lol Lawrence has had ample time to get himself situated to compete. No more excuses for him, he's a grown man. Either play well or get sent to the NFC cuz the AFC is not where he will find success.

I 1000% agree with James Jones. With how Trevor played this past season, if he plays like this next season and then misses 3-4 games and Mac proceeds to ball and the Jags look better, i think Doug would seriously consider Mac as the starter.

The Trey Lance & Dak Prescott thing is NOTHING like Mac Jones & Trevor Lawrence thing. We literally know nothing about Trey and Dak was in the running for MVP this past season. Mac has a body of work and WE KNOW the BS Mac has gone though coaching wise.

For people who dont watch jags this is for a quality backup our season was over once trevor got the injury bug and mac is huge upgrade to cj. And i wouldnt be mad if mac gave him competition bc its only gonna make trevor better at end of the day. But its crazy too me everyone making a story outta thin air with this move.

What happens if Lawrence gets hurt again and Jones comes in (to a much better team and situation) and actually balls out?

To me this a a two fold move. One, it's to bring in an experienced backup at a low cost. Two, Doug Perderson can work with Mac to get his confidence back and if everything goes well with the Prince, they can likely move Mac back out for a higher pick than it cost them to get him.

Means there's a backup named Mac Jones on the Jags.

Mac will serve as a measuring stick for Trevor. How Mac plays in practice or in games will allow them to better see Trevor's value. Look at what Kurt Warner did at St. Louis. When Trent Green went down after throwing like 3 incompletions the entire preseason, it appeared they had lost the most valuable piece to the puzzle. St. Louis later realized it would be more valuable to trade him. Mac doesn't have to beat Trevor out to show his value. Its more likely they will discover if Trevor is worth a record breaking contract or something closer to the middle which would be more consistent with his play so far.

The issue with the Jags last year during the lateral part of the season last year was not Lawrence's fault alone yeah he contributed to some of the mayhem with the team self destructing but it was their defense that played a huge part in that stretch where they gave up big plays and they lost crucial games and fell out of he playoff picture.
