Wiring loops are made in the Ukraine and the ore for the chips for the ECU are mined in the Middle East. Both suffering conflict so new cars are being built to order. This is the reason I believe the second hand cars have not only kept their value but increased in value too. 😊

i think in france being rich and looking average or even poorer than you are is kind of cool. People don't want to make other people too jealous or envious (except maybe in the south east of france).

As a comparison , my electricity rate is 25.4 pence a kwh , standing charge is 48p a day (with EDF) Council tax is now £2400 pa , basically for having your bins emptied , and a jobsworth OFTEC bloke has said our oil tank is faulty and needs replacing at a cost of £3800 !!! Not happy !!!

We live in Scotland and so the prices are much the same! Interesting about the tax fonciere, ours is only slightly more than yours AJ 😊
