Did my old mans and it had no access to the backyard accept through the house. Moving all the lumber for a 20x16 deck, a dump truck of gravel in 5gallon buckets for the back patio and patio stones for a 20x16 patio beyond the deck and did 3' high of fancy stones 2' out around all the fence for flowers and another 1/2 dump truck of dirt through the house to fill the garden. Took a week but looked incredible.

I had a landscaper who said mine would cost £6000 as well, seems to be the price they charge no matter how big or small a garden is! I too am going to do my own, yours looks beautiful!

True but this definitely can be done in less than months. A small patio can be made in a couple weekends by an inexperienced diyer.

It came to approx 2k for materials and hiring of certain tools. My advice is to get a few quotes and call and email to barter those prices

Nothing like good ol concrete pavers. Look how shinny they are.

It's also fun and you appreciate it more if you do it yourself

More like £6000 damage. Garden removed, all built over with pavement and plastic. But hey, some actually pay £6K, or much more, to have their garden replaced by another outdoor living room, dead space which needs to be cleaned, but has bad weather.

I have done my own and the true bonus was our neighbour who spent a couple grand for the labour alone. GAVE US the over ordered paving slabs and they were more than enough for us to lay patio I'd say similar size to your paved area. Your space looks very much same size space as I am working on. So I can understand the work 'time you have put into this. Well done 👌👌👍🏻👍🏻💪satisfaction'being proud of the finished product worth the time and definitely saving £££ is the bonus.

Only people in the trade need to worry of value for time since your business depends on it. By DIY you haven't got to save for years to get a trades person in on today's wages.

I got the same price for my garden and the only thing I wanted is to level the floor and do a patio, just the labour when the person send me the invoice was £2.500.

Not great to be honest. Boring and not many plants. To each their own as long you are happy.

I mean 6000£ cause they would’ve done it in a day or 2. You did it in months …so you’re only basically paying for time. Which to some is convenient but I always say it it’s appreciated more if you do it yourself 😉
