A video about the ban of pmd in London and some Europe countries (I forget the other country), it is explained in a nice way.... Quoting him: "roads are designed with cars in mind, footpath are designed with pedestrian in mind." Those countries that do not jump into the early trend to allow pmd in their country but monitor other countries for few years before they decide base on the results of other countries is better than introducing then ban it.

Just a matter of perspective, no one is right or wrong...but should consider public safety first in a bigger pic. GOV shouldn't have announced the ban in such a short period and now have to clear their own shit. Livelihood is a very sensitive issue in every country.

Thank you LTA. The ban has brought back safety on our footpaths for the silent group of our population which is our children and our elderly. Children and Elderly reflexes and understanding of harm made them most vulnerable group on footpaths. They are no match for speeding and reckless PMD riders.

E-scooter blame pedestrians, pedestrians blame e-scooter. Hahahahahah. But i think pedestrians win this round.

No policy can satisfy 100% of the people.. a million of people walking on footpaths everyday versus 7000.. you already know the verdict.. plus Singapore so small and there is still people ask for lane extension.. now most average footpaths only can accommodate 2 adults side to side.. cut half for PMD lane.. how old people with walking stick move.. how a parent can hold the hands of their children for safety.. you want all pedestrians 🚶‍♀️🚶walk single file is it??

Cut a lane out of the road to add a PMD/cycle path? Car owners make up 11% of Singapore’s population only. This would also encourage more people to get onto PMD/bicycles and take cars off our roads, contributing to the car-lite Singapore the government keeps talking about. Footpaths remain untouched, and pedestrians can walk down them with piece of mind while PMDs have their own footpaths

When my granddaughter in primary school a Pmd accidentally bang her way to school he says sorry away he went she walked with pain for a week Bukit Panjang area it’s almost 2 to 3 years ago

Love the auntie who is saying bicycle is slow though this video is two years old, love to meet her when I cycle downhill with my bicycle in footpath its around 30-45km per hour downhill

Still saw lots of PMD riders out there.. especially after midnight...all come out and ride plus no helmet..and those yp no helmet..ride on the road like very clever..all these must catch..no chance given.

PMDs would be made safe if speed limit set at 10kph. PAP lost a GRC from mismanagement of PMD, will history repeat itself from mismanagement of PMA?

Q. If pedestrians and e-scooter riders are right, who is wrong? 1). Prematurely permits e-scooter to share foot path by LTA without considering the safety to others. 2). The abuser of e-scooter riders. 3). Not enough of restrictions for e-scooter rider and seller to comply. 4). Wait till there is a fatal accident, rules change. If we want to live harmony in Singapore, there is always a way to improve the situation and is not abt "someone" has to be responsible!. Supposedly one of the respectable member in our family is willing to be responsible for the education of the pmd re the safety before allowing it into our life or family. I would not allow my kid to ride the e-scooter knowing that it can achieve 50kmph or more if he abuses the pmd to get some thrills. Is about parenting guide, and not social problem or blaming the govt. Sometimes, we hv to blame ourself for the ignorance to educate our kid, relative or siblings. One finger point to other, 4 fingers are pointing towards yourself. We must handle this issue with our mind, heart and soul and not just the blaming the easy target obviously. What does it takes to make our tiny country safe? Not just continue to keep introducing 'fine' by govt, we hv to exercise a fair contributions of sharing the right attitude and give unselfishly helps to other, even it takes ages. Singaporean hv to start to change our attitude begin from our family. Before we are officially being classify as a "Fine" city, we should work towards to become a bless city with our blessing towards to the society.

I'm pissed over this because I happened to have 2 pmd, and they are not cheap! I barely used it when they suddenly did the ban! Since a lot of cars got into accidents, should we ban cars altogether??? I happen to use my Pmd responsibly. And the fact that they want us to return the escooters and will give us $100 back, I can't stress that enough, that shit is expensive! And how am I gonna get to the location without riding it, obvious I have to take taxi or grab and that in itself will incur some cost from me. I'm just so pissed off

Low entry threshold for food delivery job. Better for them to make a living and upgrade their job later. This can be in a way part of social service for school leaver. It is not a insurmountable problem. Cars also kills.

the problem is, there are more pmd riders speedings than those who did not! sport cars don't ride on the pavement lah. and the roads have traffic lights. but the pavement?

Thank you to the Government for banning e-scooters & pmd. Now I can walk on the footpaths peacefully. Should't have introduce them into Singapre in the first place. I hate them. Now I have peace of mind when walking on the footpaths. Thank you to the Government...

Ok, if there are many reckless car riders, maybe we should ban car as well. 🙄 I get that we should do something about it, but we also must be just to the people who use it responsibly like me who never got into problem. That pmd is expensive I want to see you fork over $1000 on something and then someone just ban it like that. We see how you will feel. Singapore need to stop with making simplistic rule and make a rule that would be fair for all and easy yet safe for everyone to follow

The pmd riders are not wrong. The pedestrians are also at fault. Everyday eyes glued to phone and dont react to horn. But the problem is that some riders are speeding. So I guess the riders are the ones that are at fault.

I do not agree with the elderly about bicycles. I am a motorbike rider. I was knocked down by an errant cyclist you was speeding across the road.

Food delivery rider/s should be allow on footpaths with strict rules eg. to follow speed limit , strictly wearing uniform and an ID pass to show to enforcement officers that they are working for Grabfood , Foodpanda etc. Only Grab , Foodpanda etc. knows the rider/s who qualify for the ID pass .

The main issue is Blacksheep PMD rider will still break the rule. I believe because too many accident and complain that why need to ban PMD. I pity those PMD delivery but if community dun help to catch the reckless PMD rider in the end the accident will keep happening
