What do I shoot with? Here is what I use!

A list and discussion on the equipment I used for my astrophotography, from my OTA to my Pegasus Falcon Rotator, it is all here. A fairly decent rundown on what I use as my primary wide angle rig to capture those Deep Space Objects we all want to photograph. And of course, all from my urban light polluted Bortle 8 skies!

My goal is to automate the process as much as possible, and I just love NINA, it makes it possible. I will still check on things in the middle of the night (clouds sometimes are an issue!), but for the most part, it just works. And that makes it all possible.

@@DaveUrbanAstro NINA is getting better month by month. I bought all (almost) my astrophotography gear back in 21 and have not yet had chance to set it properly set up to use due to many different things (but that's another story). I hope to be able to get it set up this year and leave it out in the garden as I have a Telegizmo 365 cover for the top half (Currently waiting for the lower half to be made & shipped from the US to UK). Can't wait to get taking pictures. I've been a life-long lover of astronomy but to be able to have the chance to afford the whole (almost) setup was a chance I could not miss. May clear skies be with you (Astronomy take on 'live long & prosper', lol)

I am not that far away from you. Near Indio. I will be using ASIAIR with a AM5 mount. I might in the future go with a pier like you have. I am just starting out.

I drove through Indio on Monday on my way back from dropping my mount off at Losmandy in Burbank. What I like about using a pier is that you have a semi-permanent setup without having to polar align every session. Just makes it so that you can get to imaging sooner than later. CS!
