Remember that Moshe was raised as an Egyptian prince and didn't have the influence of anyone but his mother, and only for the first few years of his life, and lived as a humble shepherd for 40 years before being raised up to lead the people of Israel.

The 'soul' is not 'dark'. Its light may be "dim", not 'dark'. Do a simple act of kindness and it gets brighter.

@@russbianchi8120 I think that's why he was chosen to lead the people out of Egypt and it also explains why he loved and cared so much for all of his people. Furthermore, there is a passage where, in frustration when the people complain about having only manna to eat, Moses exclaims, "Did I produce all these people, did I engender them, that You should say to me, ‘Carry them in your bosom as a caregiver carries an infant,’ to the land that You have promised on oath to their fathers? " And though it's just a rhetorical question, I think that the answer is yes!
