What did Magnus Carlsen tell IM Muthaiah after the game? | Qatar Masters 2023
Спорт
After a loss in the second round of the Qatar Masters Open 2023, Magnus Carlsen was up against IM AL Muthaiah (2470) from India in the third round. Magnus played 1.e4 and Muthaiah responded back with the Petroff. It was an exciting game where the Indian IM really played at a very high level. Would Magnus be able to subdue him? Check out the game along with the commentary by IM Sagar Shah.

Magnus just respects good players. He'll always sit back and analyse after a good game, irrespective of the opponent😊

Whole world can learn from Carlsen and Muthaiah , love and friendship is the answer 👍
The fact that Magnus analyzed with him at the end means that he respects his chess ability.

Good to know that an 80 years old is still healthy and watching this such things. As of me, I think I’m not gonna reach 60 years old, and my age is only 30 years old! 😂😂😂
From what I could decipher through my lip reading skills, Magnus seemed to be saying, "You know, I once asked my chess set how they're doing. They said they're just board!"

Mutha is so cool. Played a really good game.
19:56 The smile says everything!
Let's appreciate Muthaiah for a brilliant fight ...huge round of claps 👏👏👏👏👏🔥
Just 64 squares , astonishing to see how many combinations it gives and how people break their head to keep their king Intact....
The best part of the video was "Let's listen to what they're saying." 🥳
Wow they spoke very loudly where I need to reduce my volume
There something different makes magnus a world champion, its not only he plays like super computer, he keeps every game humble and simple. Which makes him more deserved for being the world champion. He know how to act like a true champion. And thats why he is the world no 1 for so long.
7:45 What am i missing here, Obviously Magnus would have found it if this sequence was possible: White can start with Kg5, What's the defense to White queen entering h7 on the next move to give chackmate on the third move at h8??

Sagar mixing his spicy commentary with history lessons, the notion of Casablanca's idea is something that I really appreciate.
This is the class Magnus has . Even been greatest chess player he respects well played opponent . Kasparov lacks this novelty .
Humble player muthaiah, payed well👏
he played as a solid GM
sagar bhai, you explaining every important move is very good
GG to Muthaiah, he played really well!
Wow India, somehow the indian IMs seem to be totally underrated. They deserve to get more opportunities. See how the favourites struggle (Gukesh, Giri) ?! Maybe that applies also to chinese players, as they also struggle to get opportunities outside China.
Bro that conversation ws loud..i had to lower my volume..😂😂

It's True only as long as he keeps winning & dominating chess world.....when he loses to Sulemanyov, he blames organisers for allowing analog watch, spectators moving around etc....He quit tournament when he lost to Niemann in St.Louis claiming cheating....It has happened before world champions lose to less recognized players....Why can't he think that they are preparing & waiting for this day for years....Its just one off day, you have to accept and move on, instead of tweeting

Nice game. IM muthaiah played really well. If only he would have somehow managed to exchange the queens as well. with knight v bishop is not lost at all but add queen to it and a week square f6 is difficult against super GMs. I feel, These are the types of postions GMs might be practicing all the time. Thanx to chessbase india for relaying the games

nope. exchanging queens especially at the end was completely losing due to pawn down and carlsen's king is active

At 7:51 why don't play Knight G5 with white? After that for black the queen is lost in best case. If not, then check mate is 100%. I can't see something?

Sagar, why do players have to write down moves when everything is being recorded? If a player makes a mistake writing down it will be decided by recorded moves anyway?

they are keeping the rules uniform because in many tournaments there's no recording etc.
I am not good enough to play their moves to checkmate after the resign position in my head. At least it's not a immediate checkmate.

It's part of the rules for FIDE rated games longer than rapid. It exists to make sure the game is documented - if a game becomes available online, they are usually based on those notes. They are also useful if there's a dispute over a possibly illegal move. For higher profile games like this, you could argue it's not really necessary, since it's video recorded - but video equipment can fail.
I suppor mutho
Sorry but my speakers are poor, I can't listen ...

"Mr. Carlsen , I respect you so much, so I do not wear my watch , but mu lucky bracelet, I never give up this. My opponents just have to deal with it if they dont like it. "
That means a lot to lower rated opponents!
Oh please stop making I look like you know the moves.. You have seen the video before made notes and then play it like as if you are also calculating the moves like Carlsen.. Please don't do that!!
Only if you lose to Magnus, try to beat him and you are a cheater😂

Everyone has their own style, and this person has obviously had huge success with this signature approach, but I don’t care for bias that sometimes comes towards India players, I get it - lots of talent to be proud of, but the best commentary is always neutral, you can capture a larger audience this way.

@@Ericksonfamily2011Bro he is with indian youngsters when they were 5,6 years old it's obvious he will be happy when they do good. And it's not an official commentary in which he should be unbiased. He only covers particular games. It's like a person from India would love to see magnus play and win but he would also root for even a 2400 elo who is playing against magnus
