@@travisdoesfirewood tuning carbs on a saw can be tricky but I start by letting it warm up and then turn the L setting clockwise untill the idle of saw gets really high then starts to slow down at this point you turn it counter clockwise around an 8th of a turn then adjust your idle down as it will be fast at this point next rev the saw up and let off the chain should stop spinning soon after you let off if it doesn't the L setting is to lean and will need turned counter clock wise a touch more ounce you get it right then rev the saw while turning the H screw clockwise untill you get the highest rev then turn counterclockwise about 8th of turn that should get you really close to what you want I know it sounds intimidating but ounce you do it a time or 2 you will get it

Grease for your bar just needs to be one pump per side while you roll it. I’ve never came across a bar that spins freely and isn’t clapped out. The grease will add some friction and keep it from spinning freely but keep it lubed and protected best as possible. Run 40:1 in it, since 50:1 is designed to blow small engines (they gotta get you to switch to electric somehow).Get your carb figured out and cut some wood!Good video keep it up

Hi Travis. Great video. I have been running Stihl saws for 30 years and run 40-45 to one just to stay on the safe side. No scoring at all and never had to replace any. Compression is also great. Cylinders and pistons are expensive. Lubrication of these is crucial. Better to have a bit more lube than less. Have fun and stand up and buck.

You should buy a 372xp saw kit and build yourself a saw. It will teach you all the workings and give you a better understanding of how it all works. Don't overthink it because people want to be stupid. You are doing great. Running your outer bucking spike the way you are doesn't hurt anything, but fixing that screw hole or screw will just be more convenient. Learn how to properly tune a saw for various conditions. When you do tune, be sure that you have half tank or more of fuel and that the saw is up to operating temps. Keep on keeping on brother.

Yooo Travis! So that roller pice is the chain catch, good safety device to keep on the saw. As for carb tune I think the idle is pretty good, chain doesn’t creep & seems like throttle is crisp of idle. The high seems a little rich, I’ll guess it’s around 11,000 to 11,500 rpm now. Check your book but should be fine with 12,500 to 13,000, that’s what I tune my saws to. That chain seemed grabby, a sharpen or two will help smooth it out. As for the mix ratio there only one way to find out. I have 2 clone saws that I’m running on 50:1 for a wile now and they run fine. Looking forward to she how the saw holds up for you long term. Good video keep on cutting!

Nice saw Travis! I would step back to 32:1 or 40:1 in that thing and ensure you don’t seize it up! There has to be a reason these China import saws run light gas to oil ratios. Extra lube never hurts….!! What site did you buy the saw from? The only thing I can suggest is the grind on the chain? Maybe rakers are too short and she’s bogging down and digging too deeply??? I don’t particularly like the dog mounted on the clutch cover either. Silly reverse engineering maybe???

Holzforma is cheaply made compared to Neotec clones. If you can wrench and now the ways to tune these clones they can run for a long time. Another way to get more saw for the money is to watch the used sales places. Neotec ships from the United Statres. My Neotec 066 is a beast ,had to upgrade to a after market muffler to make it legal to run because fire screeens are required on all federal land and state lands for fire safety. The 371-2 series have a lot parts availible. I reccomend running Premix 50-1. Grease the base of the air filter to prevent fines getting into the saw. Driil a small bit bit into the broken screw till it sticks and reverse, most times screws come out.

My Echo 590(60cc) was $399+ with 24". So same money and one is a hell of a workhorse and the other is a p o s i might throw on the NYC garbage train when it goes by. I ran 40:1 instead, is that why it locked up? 🤷 TCs Outdoors has a 372 pro like yours, since he got the Echos it just holds his garage floor down. He got a 590 & 620, both light ported.
