But why they are just bureaucrats that deal with civil issues not military? The president should yes because he has a partial military capacity. Rome was able to beat barbarians that out numbered them 10 to one using the exact same weapons because Rome had a non military political system where someone dealing with road engineering was a master at road engineering not combat. The celts has warriors who tried to build roads. The Romans had an entire bureaucratic political system dedicated to building roads and thus they built them faster and better enabling their military not to win through sheer physical strength but through logistics and supply. People need to specialize and politicians should specialize in what they do like law for example.

Spartan you bring a valid point, but hypothetically once that seal starts fighting “dirty” I guarentee you the mma/bjj fighter will reciprocate. You dont just kick someone in the nuts or begin to gouge an eye and expect your opponent to not fight dirty back.

Spartan But youre right, if anyone has a chance against a top level ufc fighter if would be a navy seal. I mean look how good tim kennedy was (green beret). He wasnt never at the top but he was top 10 for sure. Check out when uriah faber michael bisping and carlos condit visited the troops in afghanistan. They did some sparring with special forces guys and carlos condit whopped them, yes in a gloved kickboxing match and not “dirty” real fighting. But as close as you can get to a real fight

💯 understand his statement about confidence. I was just a regular army soldier, no SEAL no way, but I went in a horrendously insecure person who battled constant emotional anguish, and came out of basic training and AIT a mentally strong, physically fit and confident soldier. I don't know what kind of hellish existence my life would have been due to my insecurity and feelings of inadequacy, thankfully the army saved me from that.

Learning how to lose and recover is something I appreciate from my early years in organized sports. As a young kid it was important to learn the ways of recognizing mistakes improving myself and keep trying. I’m happy that we didn’t get trophies for attendance. Awards only came to the people who achieved something and teams that won. It made my Marine Corps basic training much easier because I understood why we were tested and forced to fail. Those times and lessons learned stayed with me for all of my life guiding me through my career and personal life. The most valuable part was recovering from losses and difficult times and continue to work and never giving up.

After wrestling for years and delving into jiu-jitsu, wrestling is much physically demanding but jiu-jitsu involved more injuries. Both are fun but you only have one body in this life. For those who enter into sports as adults (after high school), go for it, but I would recommend wrestling first and then entering into jiu-jitsu after high school, or college.
