    You can calculate attack % pretty easily using EODGamer's chart. Assuming just flat numbers, without considering skills, abilities, bonuses from relics, etc., you can move vertically and horizontally to determine how much attack you need to make it worth it to switch. If we assume your character has 50% CR, 100% CDmg, then you are averaging 1.5 times your attack. If we move to the left one column, we are moving down 10% CR, and your average is now 1.4. The Formula would be: [ (Current Attack x Current Multiplier) / New Multiplier ] / Current Attack = OVERALL Attack % Example: 2000 Current Attack x 1.5 = 3000 3000 / 1.4 = ~2140 "New" Attack ~2140 "New" Attack / 2000 Current Attack = ~7% OVERALL Attack (Or a difference of 140 OVERALL Attack Damage needed) So in this example, the tradeoff is 7% OVERALL Attack Damage needed for 10% CR, at 50% CR 100% CDmg. It's going to be different for each row/column. I didn't have time to find the correlation between the Attack % and Crit Rate / Crit Damage for each line, but I would assume there is an easier pattern to it, if you wrote out each line using the Formula above or plugged it into an excel sheet. Now we have to factor in the Character's Base Attack to find the Equipment %. Formula for calculating this: [ Current Attack - New Attack ] / Character's Base Attack = Equipment Attack % Example : If you are using Seele, her Base attack is 1169 at max level. [2000 Current Attack - 2140 "New" Attack] / 1169 Seele Base Attack = ~11.9% Equipment Attack % needed for 10% Crit Rate OR 20% Crit Damage at 50% CR, 100% CDmg. EDIT: So I just remembered that the Attack % on Equipment is actually different than a flat % on OVERALL attack. You have to remember that the Attack % on Equipment only applies to the BASE Attack of your individual character. So to tweak it, I've now added OVERALL Attack to the equation above and how to calculate your Equipment Attack % needed. TLDR; It's usually better to go for Crit Rate/Crit Damage using a 1:2 ratio. The amount of Equipment Attack % needed is really high to match.

    You can find this using lagrange multiplier, using lagrange multiplier you can also show the 2:1 ratio is not really the most optimal ratio. The reason being all proofs makes the assumption crit rate and crit dmg comes In a 2:1 ratio but this is not completely true as a character starts with 50% base crit dmg and only 5% base crit rate. The actual ratio should be something like 2r = d + 0.4 or r - 0.1 = d/2 - 1 . If you include atk% it becomes more complicated as you find the optimal atk in the form a(b + x^2)/(c*x) where x is the total crit value and a,b and c are constants that changes depending on teams and characters. If you have 100% rate this formula breaks down and you can simplify the optimal atk% down to the form (x+a)/b where x is how much crit dmg you have and a and b are variables that change depending on what character you use. If you want to see some of the math behind all this you can add my discord: Siddude and I can send you some examples of how you can find the mathematical optimal stat ratio without numerical methods

    The advice to aim for 1:2 ratio doesn't seem bad, but its very clear that being a little off is neglegable. It's not like most players are making much choice due to the RNG nature of items, so if you value them at a 2:1 ratio (treat CR as double, or CD as half when comparing like for like), w/e total is higher should give you more damage (as long as CR isn't totally neglected).

    If you want an easier formula to see how much crit is boosting ur damage just multiply crit damage by crit rate %. For example, 120 crit DMG * 60% crit rate = 72% overall damage boost. You can either use percentage sign in the calculator or even just type 120*0.60.

  • @vagueeeee139

    Simple, Crit will always outweigh atk since any raw atk stat just adds proportional damage, while atk% is bad due to it only multiplying base damage and yes crit stats will multiply based on your total damage. Always remember damage stats are always better than atk stat you don’t need any comparison for that. For priority I guess crit chance since cdmg is useless without actually crit striking.

    For units that does not get any Free Crit stats at all from either LC or Traces then a good stopping point will be around 50 : 100, can go higher if you get some really lucky substat rolls but generally it's around that. For units like Seele, though; it's very easy to hit 70 : 140, heck I'm even planning to do 100 : 200 as her Signature LC gives out free 72% CritDMG on ult so I don't have to worry too much for that.

  • @XanothAvaeth

    checking the linked chart, 80/140 is marginally better for just the base values. There is some nuance to sleep like the dead for multi hit characters like Seele and Yanqing who I think both hit 4 times with their skill, if any of those hits doesn't crit, it triggers the buff, which lasts a full turn. Which I think on average would have sleep like the dead pull ahead for Seele/Yanqing (I'm unsure which other hunt characters multi hit)

  • @sdedy379
    @sdedy379 Жыл бұрын

    This is just in my opinion but even if genshin and star rail use the exact same formula but the gameplay and main strategy is quite different. In my opinion a character that hit multiple times shouldn't really worry to much about crit rate because it will average out in the end *but* for a character that invest so much buff and entire team synergy to ult and don't crit is really bad. If we see a lot of early people who finished MoC 10 they tend to have 70%-90% crit even if the crit damage isn't crazy especially for seele. In genshin who cares if one of your skill or burst isn't crit, it'll average out anyway because we kill 10 enemy at the same time or battle the boss that have so much hp you'll there for a while. But in star rail you need to get as little turn as possible in an efficient way as possible. Well yeah you can always retry to get good luck but most early MoC expert sacrifice damage for consistency of their entire run.

  • @ra_i_nbow

    @ra_i_nbow

    Жыл бұрын

    Yeah, i think the genshin players are forgetting that crit rate is much more important in turn based games. Genshin gives you lots of wiggle room in combat while in HSR you fight in turns, and missing a crit on one turn can determine whether you win or lose the battle. Summoners war, which has been around for 9 years, has a community that mostly agrees that any high dmg character NEEDS 90+ crit, if possible get it as close to 100 so you never rely on rng to do big damage.

    You can realistically get 70%-80% crit rate with 160%-180% crit dmg if you have at least 3-5 rolls into crit and crit dmg substat on all 6 pieces, with your chest piece being crit dmg% over crit rate. But in games like this, if you take epic seven, a game that HSR turn-based system is taken directly from, if you could get 80% crit rate with 100% crit dmg, this build is far better than 60% crit with 120%-140% crit dmg by a whole lot when testing this on moc. Since more chances to crit translate to more overall damage even if you're doing slightly bit less on your crit dmg since 40% chance to not crit is too significant to have when certain skills and ultimates do hit multiple times, independently crit, and you want all of them to crit to output the most damage.

    @@whyknots5678 It depends if you want to rng and reset a couple of times on moc if you're using him as a main dps (in the case where your second team is weaker then the crit build is more consistent). I mean I'm sure everyone had realized it already that your characters hit multiple times on basic, skill, and even sometimes ultimate and they all crit independently. Which is why you're much better off with the high crit build over low crit with crazy amount of CD. I have my blade at 73% crit 180% crit dmg without his 4-set piece and without his LC and I still feel like I'm not critting enough. If you have his 4-set max hp, 73+16=89%, go for it. with his LC + 16 = 105% total crit. e2 gives another 15%. E2 blade with LC and hp set gives 49% bonus crit rate, which is kinda insane. my seele has 85% crit/168% crit dmg and she occasionally still miss her crit on her ultimate so I would personally still go with the 100% crit build, maybe below 95% ideally since 5% crit is about 10% crit dmg in value.

    Just use DPS Bronya. No need to build crit rate with her trace making autos 100%. Instead you cna focus purely on crit damage. Added bonus is that this is also most ideal for buffing allies.

    If you are F2P dont worry about too much , if your char depends on crit like Damage dealers , Just achieve 50%+ Crit Rate and then focus on crit damage as much possible ranging 100-150% ,,,, usually you can reach 50 cr and 150 cd with decent build and that is the f2p line ,,, if your 5star char have CD or CR in Traces then it will be easy to reach that goal ,,, Also try to avoid single hit damage dealers since they req more crit rate to ensure the crit hit while multi hit dps chars are overall safer bet ,,,

    Uhm, Ima just say this: why don't you just multiply CR and ingame CD (which is actually bonus dmg when crit). Because your formula is basically just 1+(CR×CD). That means you deal 1 time the dmg and have a % chance to deal bonus % more dmg. For example, instead of calculating (2.121×45.5%)+1×54.5%, it's going to be easier to rewrite that as 1.121×45%+1×(45.5%+54.5%)=1.121×45.5%+1, so the 1 is now a constant value that is added and you can ignore it. And it easily shows that the 1:2 CRCD ratio is the best because IN HSR, 1% CR is twice as valuable as 1% CD. (Some other games with the same gearing system had different distribution value of CR, CD in their gear, like some other games I play had it at like 5 CR= 8 CD)

    For everybody confuse how to read the graph: 1) 1:2 Ratio is hardcoded by the devs, wich means if you dont have this exact ratio you are dealing less dmg. The closer you are to the 1:2 the more dmg you do (mathematicaly on infinite number of attacks). 2) Color arcs show range of acceptable ratios to stay in the "'same'' dmg tier. You can't land perfect 1:2 ratio, but as long as you are close enough, it will still work. 3) What to do if you are only starting to build a character? Which stats gives more? We dont have infinite attacks, we have only 4-7 turns to end the fight so subjective value is different. Graph show this as well. - Starting from 10 crit/50 dmg going from 10 to 100 crit will grand jump in 4 dmg tier, how ever going from 50 dmg to 300 will grant only 1 jump in dmg tier. Which means from starting point of 10/50 it is better to build crit rate. - Starting at 100/50, you can't get eny dmg by increasing rate, wich means crit dmg is the only way to get more (duh). Which is a complite opposite behavior from previous example. - Starting at 50/100 , maximus you can get by pushing rate is 3 tiers worth of dmg, how ever going all in dmg, will grand you 4 dmg tier. Which is breaking point btw 2. Basicaly, If you have less then 50% crit rate, it is better to push crit rate, your dmg will be growing faster, how ever after 50 crit rate your dmg will be growing higher if you start to push the crit dmg. 1:2 ratio will always produce better result on average, but you dont want average, you want to kill enemy in X attacks. Each character will have each own breaking ''point'', but it feels useless to push crit rate after 75% and it feels useless to push crit dmg befor 35% crit rate.
