Cleaning your room is also a good place to start when you are inert, especially from depression. You can have at least SOME sphere of influence in which to work, which slowly chips away at the inertia, and can grow larger incrementally over time.

Cleaning up your room means two things mainly: 1) structuring your environment by yourself (which will make you feel less powerless), 2) getting rid of ballast (essentially setting you more free). What many people do not realize is how material stuff restrains their freedom to go anywhere and do anything a great deal.

Yep. Plus when cleaning your room and getting rid of old crap has a feeling of letting go of your past, which helps shift your vision into the future and not be stuck into your old self, what you didn't do and other negative feelings.

My house is always a mess but my closets are always organised! I never understood why this was the case with me. And I have a lot of clothes. After this video a kind of explanation came into my mind. My closet is the connection between me and the outside world. And I'm always presentable and I always put my happy persona when I'm outside. But on the inside. Oh man the inside it's like the rest of my home. Hell. Unorganized, confused.

One of the most tiresome things I can imagine in the terms of demotivation in families - and one or two times I experienced it from my family - is that when one person wants to do something good (for entire group) and the other persons marginalise it, and demotivate it, and create problems out of it even before the person who get the idea formulate all the plan they already formulate all the obstacles you can see :( They beheve as if doing a good things was disturbing their peace or disturbing their lazyness or their not caring to do anything creative - some ppl think that all their home needs is their earnings, and thats all to do with home and with kids :) One or two times I felt as if my family did not liked the idea that I m going to do smt good. Like some of my family did not liked the idea that I will take some responsibility and creativeness and I will be doing smt for the profit of the group (my group). Its like some kind of jealousy or smt ? Its like I sometimes felt demotivation from my family or ignoring of my ideas about improvements of our home and family. And its like as if they knew that the idea was good but marginalised and ridiculed and ignored it still as if they were afraid of them praising this idea. For them they better like the idea of me in need of being taken care of by them and that way listen to them obviously which they expect all the time, and they marginalise my ideas about my own input to household to improve it for all group.

I never heard him explain it completely. I always thought it was just a jumping off point to do more important tasks and give you a taste of accomplishments. But instead of jumping off of cleaning your room, he tries everything back to it. This task also reveals that in order to perfect one things you have to improve almost everything. Reminds me of the Bible verse that talks about how if a person commits one sin they commit them all.

Give all my old clothes away started attracting new clothes. I cleaned op and reorganized every space. I took my pillows and started buying pillowcases that are smaller then my actual pillowcases (makes you look richer). I attracted a free chair, cleaned my ceilings, painted my doorknobs etc. Cleaned up my kitchen and realized I had similar utensils (amazing). And then I started outside. I have a parkinglot and started talking to my landlord (he gave me a terraschairs and tabld). Started talking to my neighbours. And now we are going to buy a swimming pool. And now I'm invited for a trip in his cabriolet . 2 months folks, amazing. I feel rich and I'm not. Clean up your room.

Doesn't have to be a whole room. A friend of mine in a troubled marriage claimed an abandoned pottery shed for her own things. She cleaned and repaired it and made it her own. But then her husband decided he needed that space too to keep his empty paint cans, and her treasured items were soon jumbled and covered in paint. She left him soon after that final invasion of her privacy.

Which have caused many to instead of doing something different than the "normalnorm" in new ways, to just give up. Cause smashing others with the bad stuff (what you dont do the "right way") some think they do, by organising things differently, isnt good enough, for the rigid "normnormal" smashers. Wise man, if one just listen to some of what he says metaforicly its really great, but most people pick out things and screw them to what he not says, and sometimes, he says things, not either he, can-would, see beyond his own cultural belongings.

How about; "keep your room clean and Clean up our side (though we are only there 1x/month) too and pay all our utility bills (even if we know you do not make full use of everything and the house does not belong to you). Also, you cannot have another dog, nor can you cook fish or anything else that may 'stink' in the kitchen, can't wear shoes in your casita, you are not allowed to have any friends over, Clean and flush our toilets once a week, remove a cup of ice everyday from the refrigerator, don't forget to take out the garbage, among any other incruing housekeeping responsibilities they can toss my way to shorten my free time. Since I've moved to Nevada my freedom is cycling; Since October of 2021 to the here and now, I have had only two opportunities to ride my bike?????? I live in a wealthy community who bluntly expressed that after they met me, they did not accept my presence. Just Awful; I understand why wealthy people LIVE IN GATED COMMUNITIES...the snobs and hypocrites they actually are; go figure!

He is live and living it. The man lives what he lectures. He is not a paid presenter and I would guess that if you judge his delivery as nervous you are missing all his energy and his message. Maybe you have been watching too much spoon fed, dumbed down, passive communication on TV

Orangy Pteco sorry you see it that way. You pass judgement saying he is nervous and about to cry. I suggest you are missing the point and that is what you find offensive?. I am truly sorry that you are offended by my words. It is very sad and I feel sorry for you that you are so easily offended. Life must be very difficult for you

barb roberts I was just making a question. What the guy above answered was good and we left it at that. But you just had to come here to paint me as if I'm attacking Peterson, who's a man I admire. I simply have heard him speak differently and I was surprised at how he sounds in this video. You don't have to be a dick about stuff. And I'm not offended, I'm just amused at your rudeness.

Orangy Pteco apologies for the apology. I didn’t realise it was a closed forum between you and the fuzz. If you watched a lot of Peterson’s lectures you would see clearly that it is his passion and energy for both his subject and students that somehow you seem to read as nerves and tears

💥So what he's saying is..♥⬇ 🔥 Ephesians 5:15-17 🔥 So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. 16 Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. 17 Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.
