My aunt and cousins lived in what cheer until my aunt died. Spent many days walking the creek and playing basketball in the park across from Casey’s.
My grandparents use to live there . My great grandfather built the house. After g-grandma past. They moved in. They lived there till they past . Whoever bought it tore it down and now a field.
I live just a few miles west of What Cheer, in another small town of Rose Hill, IA. Although they have been gone for many years now, the bars in What Cheer used to the place to go for drinks on a Saturday night.
Black in the day I used to drink beer in Betty's bar. If she was closed I'd go to Ivan's. Can't recollect what the other one was called. Good friends there......BTW been sober over 25yrs.
Watt Cheer doesn't know how to spell. Or, they know how to spell but can't pronounce worth a squat. It's embarrassing either way.
