I prefer this over you talking about youtubers tbh. I know you might not get as many views but the ones who really like this chanel actually like fashion, not some jenner nonsense.

I love these kinds of fashion history videos 😊😊
Fantastic summary, everyone should see these videos just to have a sense of how fashion has changed over the years and know how the pioneers of fashion rose to fame.

EMERYTHEQUEEN SKINNYLEGEND history of fashion tells a lot about society. It’s extremely beneficial to your world knowledge!
Okay but the Call Me By Your Name audio book is truly magnificent
I love when tou do those research videos of history in fashion. Here in france the movies they did about him showed a lot more dor international audiences to discover him more. People often forget he started at Dior. Also as a French language native i appreciate your efforts to really pronunciatie the French words well. Very good video as always 😊
thanks for your hard work! I learned a lot
I wonder if the hemline rule was also due to the ”average” woman who wanted to follow trends without the budget who would alter already owned dresses (this was common before make do and mend but the war did reinforce it). Home raising/lowering hem, neck and cuff heights, adding/removing lace, sleeves and darts etc was very common. Any drastic changes to that seasons or years trends would be too expensive and possibly reflect a little negatively on the brand by those looking to copy the fashion houses lead during and after the war. Dior came at just the right time for those with a little more to spend who were tired of the post-war austerity and strictness, though he still received some backlash. I think YSL arrived at a time when spending of the none wealthy elite was growing so a new dress or bolt of fabric for a new pattern didn't necessarily mean breaking the bank. As with everything I think they were men of vision who also happened to arrive at a time their particular vision would be welcomed enough to work. Whether it's luck or being to able notice the mood of the day better than others on top of great talent will always be debated when it comes to great people who make a notable change or break ground in any area. *written on mobile so I can't see the whole post so please excuse grammar and general mistakes.
I love this historical context series you’re doing!! As someone who knows nothing about fashion it’s so interesting to me and I love how thorough you’re being in your research! Love you!!
absolutely tragic and disgusting how the media and the clients ate ysl up and spat him out
First time commenting. I have been a subscriber for a bit, but WOW. This series truly is amazing. I first subscribed wanting to hear you spill the tea, but this just CHANGED how I see you. Yes, you are still sassy and fabulous, but can I please add articulate, intelligent and resourceful?! Thank you so much!
Your voice and character are perfect for this. Thank you. I hope you make lots more because I learned a lot

@asava17 Just a reminder that all that "toxic masculinity" is the only thing between you and the nazis or whoever you're at war with. Boiling men down to purely something toxic is pretty messed up.
This was so well done and thanks to this video I fell in love with Yves Saint Laurent. He seems like such an adorable person. I really wish you would make a part two and tell the rest of the story of his life.
I hadn't known how interesting I would find fashion history until I started watching your videos, I really enjoyed this and would definitely enjoy more. It gives us insight into the person behind the brand, I love it. I also like how you include the input of others, that was great :)
Siiiiiiiiick!!!! And I just watched part 1 yesterday and kept searching for part 2!! You’re killing it with the fashion content. My fashion renaissance started just 2 months ago with your guidance and my wardrobe and personal style have evolved greatly. I can’t stop researching art and its history to keep finding life inspiration. Thank you bud, really appreciate the knowledge sharing. Greetings from LA from one Aquarian to another :). I now crave more and more original couture beyond the basic designers like Iris van Herpen, Guo Pei, and Valentino’s latest couture show. Yaaaasss!

YES you should absolutely keep this series going! These types of videos are my second favorite, my number one being show reviews. I like roasts the least since I don't think they are much of an opportunity to show your knowledge but I get why you make them.
This is what you call quality content. Interesting subject, informative with great story telling ... keep it coming bro!
Yass, thumbs up for sponsor! ETA: YES!!! Love this series, I feel my brain expand from knowledge I did not know existed!!
You narrating fashion history is something I didn’t know that I needed. I can’t wait for more content.
Fabulous fabulous love this series- don’t stop including things like this when we finally get out of quarantine. This shows off a whole different side of you!
Is it just me or I am OBSESSED with these type of videos that goes through the history of these iconic designer brands
I’ve been waiting so long for this video!!!! And only THE Haute Le Mode himself could make an Audible commercial so fun and entertaining
this was really interesting - i want to watch the other videos you got in store for this series!
Beautiful job Luke! Can't wait to see more of the same. Since I love food like you love fashion, I'll give you a morsel: If your other videos are like the most craveable fast food; then this series is like the first taste of haute cuisine with flavors you dream about for the rest of your life.
I like your sassy roasts, but being a 31 year old these fashion history videos are my absolute favorites. Love all of them and cant wait for more!
This was so informative and well made, thank you! I would love a lot more of these in depth fashion history videos - 5 parts on Alexander McQueen? Yes, please!

You did it again Luke, another fantastic fashion video. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Really loved this one, and now I have to check out part one. I came for the sassy takes on runway and red-carpet fashion, but I'm staying for the well-researched history lesson, thanks for your hard work!
Keep up the great work in enlightening us on the history of fashion! Great work!

This is what i want from you!! I thought i knew everything about Dior and tbh i love Dior especially back in the John Galliano’s era! Dior was my first fashion show i watched on KZread literally 12 years ago! I was very much obsessed with Dior the moment when Riley Keough was the face of Miss Dior Cherie back in 2006!!! To know more about Dior and the history of it makes me so happy! Keep on doing this. Could you please make this like a segment weekly or something? First it’s Dior and second it might be Chanel, or maybe Balmain, or even Balenciaga, as far as iconic brands in the world. All in all i love this video so much thank you for making me knowing more about Dior!
I absolutely loveeeee your fashion history videos!!
love it, great video!
The ending to this video is beyond painful to watch. Yves Saint Laurent is a man that I relate to dearly. Thanks Haute! and please continue the video with a part 2.
I know these videos aren't as popular as your commentary videos but I really like/appreciate these!!

You sold me with the audible trial bc you reminded me that I wanted to listen to armie hammer read CMBYN😂
Keep it comin I'm thrilled.
Bravo ! Your doing a wonderful job. YSL is one of my all time faves ! As an ex-fashion designer, there really is no one that compares to the masters like Dior, Yves, Charles James, and Cristóbal Balenciaga. There are few more with lesser impact but there hasn't been anyone contemporary today that even comes close to their titanic talent !
Great video once again! I wonder if you've ever thought about the podcast format. Because this was very enjoyable to listen to (at work lol) but yeah if you had a podcast channel I'd be listening ALL DAY! GREAT WORK
Love your content ❤️ informative but also fun to watch
I enjoyed watching this! I wish you cover more of YSL's life in the future. I finished the YSL 2014 movie yesterday because his life intrigues me.
This was incredible to watch like holy shit. I'm not even a fashion follower (i'm more of a makeup addict) but I found this and part 1 so fascinating!
I love these videos more than videos about youtubers or something.... because this explains real history and its so interesting.
